John Kerry got a lot of comments from the right ab out his looks. Edwards has already taken flak for looking too good.
Why is age a valid thing to consider but race and religion are not? You could argue that your religion tells you a lot about your moral character and whatnot, at least to the extent that age and whether or not yo='ve been divorced does.
I agree that primary voters should support whoever they think is the best candidate, but a the same time, i don't think the analogy, which is the heart of the argument made, is completely valid.
The 'job' that Obama is applying for is the President of the United States, not the Democratic nominee for the Presidency. A primary voter should be looking to find the person most able to win the election in November.
Now, the whole argument is moot, because I think that Obama is as capable of winning the general eleciton as any of the big three, regardless of his race.
