I wonder if MyDD is not actually running at its maximum efficiency in regards to the above criteria. There will always be trolls among us, and the community does a reasonably good job of identifying them and ridiculing their efforts. The new administration will also usher in a more intelligent breed of troll than we're used to, in that such trolls can "reasonably" disagree with various policy positions with reasonable-sounding critiques that do not betray their real intent to undermine and divide Democrats.
The one thing I would like to see would be an un-recommend button. The recommendation system could also probably be tweaked, so that one or a few malcontents could not monopolize the Rec List based on a few clicks within a very short span of time.
I don't believe it, but that does cause some concern in my mind, if true. I sort of envision a President as working from the time s/he awakes until the time s/he goes to sleep, though clearly Bush would not fit that image.
Meh. Unfortunately I'm not up on my local politics - I've sort of viewed New York as a temporary home, though it now looks permanent - but I feel like there are better picks out there. That said, I'm sure that she'd be a reliable vote on the important issues, so I don't get the passion that this appointment works up in people outside of the state.
Oh, and for the trolls dying to make a comparison to Palin - well, I almost can't believe that I'm writing this, but Palin also would probably be qualified to be a senator, too, even though she was completely unqualified to be a 73-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency. A senator shows up to work (sometimes), votes (sometimes), and gives speeches to a closed circuit television inside an empty Senate chamber (sometimes). The jobs are completely different and the latter does not require much personal investment outside of campaigning every few years.
I'm not a fan of Kennedy for the seat (for essentially the reasons to which you pay mere lip service), but each of these trashy-ass diaries has given me more and more pause. Seriously, are some people just going to go through life trying to kneecap the imagined enemies of the Clintons? I bet neither of them gives a crap about this.
