There is a big problem with a candidate who is the only one who beats in all the head-to-heads and still trails in the polls.  He's not connecting and Hillary's head-to-heads are going up and soon he's not even going to boast about that, the only thing he's got going for him.  Democrats just don't think he can win and they are not buying the head-to-heads as the end-all-to-be-all.  And I agree- I don't think he can win the general election.  He's too easy a target for the Republicans.  Like today, there was an article about his "two Americas" and the Republican reply was this-

Dan Ronayne, spokesman for the Republican National Committee, scoffed at Edwards' economic theme.

"John Edwards likes to talk about the 'Two Americas' but he should add a third America — his. The America of $400 haircuts, mansions, hedge funds and tax loopholes is one uniquely his own," he said.

That sort of thing will sink him and I think democrats realize that and that is why he polls behind both Clinton and Obama and that is not going to change.

  • This sort of desperate grasping won't work against Hillary, who has solid support in the Indian American community.

I think the responses show that Obama supporters eat their own.

  • Another poll showing Hillary in the lead, which is happening all over the nation.  She's got the momentum going everywhere and she is only going to keep going up until she takes the nomination.  Great news!

The more "hit" diaries that go up on Hillary, the more her polling numbers go up, so keep'em coming.

Jay Leno had a joke about the Edwards campaign that was very funny and also very true.  He said, "Yes, there are two America's- and neither is voting for him."  His campaign has been on life support for weeks.  He's pretty much done but no one wants to be the one to say "The party's over."

Hillary has opened a wide lead, as almost every poll has shown.  She is the candidate that people are choosing more and more, leaving the others behind.  She is a fantastic choice and will make a great President- just what we need right now.  Hillary is putting herself out there and people are responding- this is great news and I am proud of those voting for her that they can see beyond the cheap petty attacks and realize that she is the best candidate for the job.

  • We'll see if you're still nanny nanny-ing when she wins the nomination.

Hillary will end up taking the lead.  It's only a matter of time.

  • comment on a post New Mason-Dixon IA poll: Hillary takes the lead! over 7 years ago

This is wonderful news.  Hillary keeps moving upward and people are responding to her and realizing what a great leader she is and will be for our nation.

  • What a refreshing change to read a diary that is actually fair and balanced and doesn't seem to have a hidden agenda of just being a "hit" diary on one or more of the candidates and where reality is firmly out the window.

I agree with alot of what you said but am a bit more happy with the choices.  I'm a Clinton supporter although I do like Obama a lot as well.  Thanks for the objective analysis in a make-believe land.

It's not my favorite choice but she would get criticized for anything because people are desperate seeing her poll numbers every week.  Even if she had picked "One" by U2, which I liked, attackers would say "They're not even from America!"  So whatever.

I guess the time to be upset about all these anti-Hillary diaries will be when I come here and there aren't any- it'll mean she's no longer the frontrunner and the desperation to dethrone her by the most petty of means is no longer there.

I guess God's idea of freedom is ending up dead.

But really, the people who voted on him need to take some of the responsibility of where we're at.  They were told over and over again what kind of person he was- they were told even before he was elected that he would be the worst President in history.  Everyone KNEW that and they voted on him anyway.  It's not just the leadership that needs to be changed, but the people who elected him need to change as well.
