• It is weird how Daily Kos started to implode soon after the election.  I think that Kos has done himself in a bit, but also
sense Trolls are doing some of the disruption and diary mobbing.
  • it may go back to a point before the primaries when Clinton seemed to be nurturing Dean along, and Dean publicly said some critical stuff about Clinton, which was kind of not really a cool thing to do to someone who is befriending you and giving you advice.  People don't forget stuff like that.
  • I'm getting sick of this hate shit against anyone who isn't Howard Dean.

It is starting to seriously turn me against Howard Dean.

  • Why is Dean damaged goods?
Because you right wingers are afraid of him?

I'm only thinking that the Chair should be bland - a neutral
facilitator who is not threatening to candidates.

I continue to think of Dean as a major candidate and presidential material.

He is a strong, outspoken individual, and it seems like this kind
of position would crimp his style.

Maybe he would take the chair position and turn it into something very positive, though.  And Dean's having a high visibility position would be good.

But I don't think that people opposing him as chair deserve to be
bashed.  They have legitimate reasons to be uncomfortable
    with this.

Liberal blogs have morphed beyond "energized youth" into something more sinister.

The gang-bang mentality is the one thing that makes me very nervous about blogs and the dons out to whip up the anger.
Reminds me of the mafia behind the teamsters a few years back.

Up until a week ago, I was an impassioned Dean supporter.

His losing the primary hit me almost as hard as Chimp winning this election.  It took me ages to get over disliking Kerry for beating Dean.

I didn't think that Dean had quite the low-key "guy in the background" persona for the DNC chair, but I felt that in order to be a viable candidate, he needed a position with visibility.
In truth, I thought that the chair position would not be his cup of tea.  Dean is a brilliant,  limelight guy.

At this point, I realize now that Dean's major drawback in any position is the very blog that empowered him.

It has become clear that Daily Kos is a Frankenstein.

At any given moment, it morphs into an unwieldily mass of mob droids.

They cheer whoever is in the graces of the leader, and stone anyone out of grace, and anyone with valid comments that rub the leader wrong.

I've seen the mob catcall and jeer and gangbang.

The blob has grown to the point of 300,000 hits a day (so they claim).

This gives the lead writer tremendous power and influence.  To make or break a career.

He recently stated that journalistic ethics don't apply to him.  He's a blogger.

Dean has nurtured along something that he will find himself at the mercy of.

He owes too much to the blog.  He is in too deep.

Howard has been a breath of fresh air.  He has awakened
    the party.

But my worry is that he could also be a liability.
When Dean rises, the blog leaders - who think that ethics are something of a joke - will be attached at the hip.

    what's funny about journalistic ethics.

Or what has been discovered to be the lack of them.

  • if you don't like opinions, make it private.

I'm getting grossed out by the blog dons.

Too much power for the vapid.

That gives a lot of power and influence to the lead writer.

Most of us thought he was completely on the level.  And not
held to what you call "blog standards"  and the rest of us calle "corruption."

As lead writer, I think that Kos has a responsibility to hold high journalistic standards.

Not try to manipulate people who trust him.

You don't think so.   That's fine.

So why are you making such a big deal that some of us don't think it's cool to endorse Howard Dean for chairman without any sign that he worked for the man.

That's just basic, common sense integrity.  Either ya got it or you don't.

It's really creepy to hear all of these "liberals" whining at the idea that they are expected to have basic integrity.

Lead writers on blogs with 300,000 hits a day
be held to any standard of veritas?

Actually, they're not.  Nobody's going to jail.

So why should it bug people when it's pointed out that there's payola on the sly?

Maybe they're pissed because the repugs caught
    them RED-HANDED?

disclosures are an idea that only those dickhead liberals would come up with.
