And PUMA goes boom

Christina of Yes to Democracy & Tommy Christopher of AOL seem to have done some seriously major journalism & exposed very troubling things about PUMA. The linked pages speak for themselves.

wrong issue, work on pugs.  the primary is over, if you don't want to work to get PUMA's aboard, ignore them.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

Aren't you the crazy one still espousing tinfoil hate theories over at Alegre's litterbox? Why would we want to work with PUMAs, after how you've treated us and the Democratic party?

Serious Question-

Re: And PUMA goes boom

Yep.  It seems more shaming is in order.

Anna "no shame" Shane is quite a character.

Indeed, though I prefer the original "Shane".

from 2 months ago? get a grip. here you keep preaching how the primaries are the primaries are over then you keep on acting like an ass and dredging up old scores to "settle".

thanks, I appreciate the assistance.  You know what Bob Dylan says, some people don't have much to eat, but, they got a knives, lot of forks, and they got to cut something.

Also "why don't we do it in the road."  Thankfully, most people don't treat Dylan as the Gospel.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

well, not really helping you so much as continuing the fight for bloggers not being dick-heads. these two ganged up on you for no reason then put up a link then mic-chracterized what you posted. to me that is just being a dick-head. Thye seem to think they have a lock on every subject and cannot stand it when their dick-headedness is pointed out. pretty sad really. Sure speaks volumes about their real agenda however.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

me, I'm trying to get Barack elected.  Time to end the primary wars, it's 30% of his supporters according to today's poll that want to keep the Hillary Hate alive. I don't see how anyone thinks that will help Barack get his message across.  We need to end the hate and do our part to bridge divides, not widen them.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

I commend you for trying to get Obama elected. It takes maturity to support him after he ended the hopes of a great candidate who you were so invested in. Both are once in a generation candidates and its a real pitty that we couldn't have staggered them.

Also when you have 18 million people supporting a candidate as both Obama and Hillary did its inevitable that some of them are going to be jerks. 30% may be a high number IMO.

Anyways cheers and I'm all for ending the primary wars.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

Two months?  What the hell are you talking about?  Her last contributions to Alegre's litterbox were 9/02 for a diary, and 9/04 for a comment.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

the most recent one she posted was about BHO naming his cabinet and staking his claim to office. Dear lord what a SHOCKING SHOCKING thing to ask! Anna MUST be scourged from the face of the Earth according to you I guess. But in fact the 1st in the list that you linked was from more then 2 months ago, and even that was complaints about hate-filled bloggers like yourself, not against BHO. but hey you seem to feel you ARE Obama so that may be why you take it so personal. I hate to be the one to break it to you but if you are BHO then he really is not the right choice. Thankfully that is not the case.

All your talk of "tin foil" and denigration of people you cannot honestly exchange thought with are simply expressions of your ego.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

We're not stupid we do read Alegres corner. Ana and several others constantly attack obama. We stopped attacking Hillary once the primaries were over. We haven't talked about racism, revisited slights or blamed Hillary for her charecterization of Obama during the campaign which was aggressive. We took it for what it was a hard fought campaign. We don't carry grudges to Hillary or her campaign. They are dems and so are we.

We do however bear grudges to Pumas who continue to attack obama and insinuate that he stole the primary victory. DON'T TELL US THE PRIMARIES ARE OVER..... STOP GOING AFTER OBAMA.

Re: And PUMA goes boom

it's not true, you know, I've said over there I'm voting for him and I want him to win.  He isn't leading by much if anything right now, and Sarah is a cluster bomb, she's going after Barack and with impunity. She'll be seen as defending herself.  I've been giving Barack advise, I've said noting about anything he can't help and a lot about what he can do to win over currently undecided Democrats and Democrats who plan to vote for neither and vote only down ticket.  It's weird the amount of hate you direct toward me, as if you can't get enough of hate  You think he's doing fine and needs no help?  I know people who would vote for him if he'd just admit Bill isn't racist and Hillary didn't want to win over his dead body.  I don't know why he doesn't do that, it seems simple and right, and he'd look big and he'd look like a guy who does not hold grudges and will work with the best.  Hillary has so many supporters who will vote for him anyway, or would like to if he'd come out and make up over the character shots.  it's good advice, maybe you don't want him too, maybe you're not ready to unit with her supporters, and it's not the other way around?

Serious Question-

by ragekage 2008-09-04 07:27PM | 0 recs
anna, please stop insulting my pug

by using that word as a denigrating diminutive for "Republicans". She blogs her little heart out for Democratic ideals and despises the Republican agenda.

Stressed out

When she saw you using the word "pug" like that, she swooned from the disgrace. She's so depressed now that she can barely drag herself to her food dish for sustenance.

I am glad you posted this but

couldn't you give us a "taste" of each link?

by kevin22262 2008-09-04 05:49PM | 0 recs
Re: I am glad you posted this but

oh sure

Mostly I'm too lazy. but here is a taste of the first

Zbridge, outsourcing jobs, lawyer moms, and PUMA's "account" ability.

We all know that yesterday Darragh Murphy released some "accounting" for the donation money she has been spending. Take a look see:

Travel Vouchers to help Pumas and Puma Friends get to Denver:  $       10,000.00

Puma PAC HQ and Blogging Center and Lodging for Pumas and Puma Friends (most slept on the floor without a kitchen)  $ 11,000.00

Food and drink for PUMAs: $3,500.00

The Rise -Candle-light Ceremony  celebrating Hillary (stage, sound,  lights, etc.) $5,000.00

Printing of Signs/Banners/Flyers: $4,900.00

Ground transportation in Denver: $2,000.00

T-shirts, pins, bumper stickers, etc. $12,000.00

Shipping flyers and product to Denver: $1,200.00

Subtotal  $ 49,600.00

Transportation and Filming of The Audacity of Democracy (from June through August 30th, in Texas, DC, Chicago, DC again, Denver): $17,000.00

Technical/Equipment Costs for The Audacity  of  Democracy:  $ 8,000.00

Legal fees for set up and contracts  $ 3,500.00

Subtotal  $ 28,500.00

Grand Total: $78,100.00

12,000 on t-shirts, buttons, and bumper stickers? In Denver, it's common knowledge that they were selling t-shirts, buttons, and bumper stickers. Don't those profits go back into the PAC? Shouldn't they "credit" those proceeds to their expenditures before holding out their hand for more money? Or did they sell that little? This whole "list" smells of ridiculous over-reaching.

They spent more on buttons than equipment?
They spent more on shirts than a stage, lights, and sound? Strange.

And by the way, they say they need donations, for what? Denver is OVER. Aren't they supposedly a pro-Hillary group who doesn't "endorse a candidate?" If they run a single anti-DNC, anti-Obama ad, that goes right out the window. They literally become a swiftboat organization.

Remember the "Democrats" in 2004 who came out of the ether and claimed to have "worked along-side" John Kerry in 'nam and just "couldn't vote for him," even though some were Democrats? Yeah, we called them" swiftboat veterans for truth," unfortunately- they were full of Republican paid operatives.

These two tales are starting to sound pretty familiar now, aren't they?

All of this accounting talk has got me thinking-

Darragh Murphy already came out and said she spend 5K on "web development and hosting" while having the free blog, the free copyblogger plug-in theme to make her page look "pretty", and hosting the site on Dreamhost, whose most expensive hosting plan is approx $795 if you pay for 10 years upfront. So, where is this $5,000 going to?

You know, I got a pretty interesting email about the profession of someone very close to Darragh Murphy just two days ago. Seems like Darragh's hubby is um, into computers, to say the least. Could this be where some of that supposed "5K" went?

Nicholas Langrind, spouse to Darragh Murphy - has QUITE the profession.

For being regular Americans, for being lifelong Democrats- those who want to see unions protected, those who are hurting because they are losing their jobs due to outsourcing, The Langrind/Murphy background seem to be VERY different. Nicholas langrind's profession: OUTSOURCING JOBS TO CHINA. Not just figuratively, LITERALLY.

He is the manager for a company called "z bridge" and THIS is their mission:

Zbridge's mission is to make midsourcing the leading solution for  the contract labor and consulting needs of the most technically advanced companies.  Our task is to provide tested, usable deliverables to our customers for their most complex software, hardware and business development projects -- with no compromises in quality or scheduling.

We aim to stake out the middle ground between the outsourcing and in-house camps, eliminating the most intractable problems and risks of either approach.

More than simplifying your choices regarding outsourcing options, Zbridge changes the equation: with midsourcing we bring China to your door.  As a Zbridge customer you get:

access to the most cost-competitive engineering labor markets in China
deliverables that arrive ready-to-go because the development has been locally directed all they way by fluent Zbridge managers
liaison and  business development services from management and engineering professionals with decades of experience in both the US and China
This is how the Langrind/Murphy's pay their bills? by costing regular Americans their jobs? How "Democratic" of them.

And this isn't some old company. Here is the zbridge craigslist ad from yesterday. They are looking for help, if you know anyone willing to sell some Americans short.

Oh, and I wonder who that $3,500.00 went to for "legal fees?" Well, guess what? Ann F. Walsh, Darragh Murphy's mother, is a lawyer!

What do we know about Ann F. Walsh??

This is the same Ann F. Walsh who goes by "MAMApuma." Who calls herself a "spokesperson" for PUMA.

No, really, she does. According to The Denver Post:

"We are here to oppose the primary process as fraudulent, intimidating, misogynist," said Ann Walsh, a PUMA leader from Boston, as a group of mostly female supporters thronged the house, picking up placards and T-shirts.

This is the same Ann F. Walsh who I exchanged some "colorful" emails with last week when Darragh said I "attacked" her mother because I released her name. Well- if Darragh thought THAT was an attack, she should read the rest of this TRUTH.

Here are the two best emails from "MamaPUMA":

Christina Cedeno,
We are currently reviewing each and every post that you have made in order to determine whether we should proceed with a libel suit.  As I am sure you know, accusations such as you have made are liable for action in court.  We will be in touch with you through our attorneys if it become clear that the next step is in court.

Ann F. Walsh, Esq.
PO Box 556
Carlisle MA 01741

Dear Christina Credeno,
It concerns me that you use the phrase "My email was NOT directed at you. It was directed at Darragh Murphy".  We are investigating each and every possibility of harassment as well as libel.  Your use of the term "directed at" invites investigation.

Please do send me your phone number so that we can follow that thread.

The courts are very good at distinguishing the distinction between libel and free speech and are very sensitive to harassment that interferes with voting rights.  I have no fear that they will do that with significant results.

Ann F. Walsh, Esq.
PO Box 556
Carlisle MA 01741

This is the same Ann F. Walsh, director of Boston Children First, who filed a lawsuit
in 2003 claiming that the Boston School District was discriminating- against whites.
Here is the article:

Ann Walsh, director of Boston's Children First, a nonprofit group that filed the suit on behalf of the parents, said the parents would appeal the ruling.

''We feel as if an opportunity has been lost here,'' Ms. Walsh said.

Anyone who lives up north knows that the "busing" issue is a way to express tinges of racism.

This is also the same Ann F. Walsh opposed to bi-lingual education:

Walsh's          agenda, such as neighborhood schools, the elimination of          METCO and busing, the eradication of bilingual education,          and the implementation of an elected school committee have          been met with mixed reviews, no one seems to be opposed to          the idea of Boston Public School parents having a unified          voice.

This is the same Ann F. Walsh who appealed the judges decision (that busing was NOT discriminating against whites) and used this right wing nut lawyer Chester Darling to help her. Who is Chester Darling- besides a friend to Ann F. Walsh (Darragh Murphy's mother)? Oh, according to this story on

Chester Darling has been a longtime champion of difficult, often unpopular causes. He fought for, and won, a unanimous Supreme Court ruling that banned gays and lesbians from marching in the South Boston St. Patrick's Day parade. He railed against buffer zones that protect abortion clinics from protesters. He successfully defended a Woburn minister's right to whip his son with a leather belt. He sued the town of Lexington for refusing to display a Nativity scene on its public green. He sought to overturn race-based school admissions policies.

Geez, you want to talk about "sketchy associates." How long do you think Ann and Chester were working together?
It sounds like this family is brimming with progressives!
Woohoo! Go mampuma, leader for PUMA, who condones  stifling the rights of Gays and Lesbians. Who supports ministers whipping sons!!!

second. The interesting part here was the video, but here is the introductory text:

This is the last batch of PUMA vids, but I think the best.  This is MamaPuma, spokesperson for PUMAPAC.  Again, Brad Mays was shooting this for his film, and I hope it makes it in.

Before you watch these, remember this:

Also, remember the opening to that trailer, and my previous commentary on it.  During the interview, I didn't realize how strong this all was.  The fact that Ann (MamaPuma) argued that semantic distinction so forcefully, coupled with the later (on the record) revelation that she's a lawyer, cast this in a new light.

Note, also, that she argues that it is impossible to know whether the person who solicited Barack Obama's murder was or was not an Obama supporter.  Even granting that gargantuan technicality, how does that make it OK for Darragh to claim he was?

Christina's post paints a very cynical picture of all of this, indeed.  Look back a few posts to the video of that bare room with the air mattress in it.  Remember the woman in the middle of the 2nd video in this post.  Remember all of the women who gave 'til it hurt to pay for this effort.  Remember, with me, the line of PUMAs who met my eye apologetically as they filed out of the PUMA house following the rude welcome some of them gave me when I showed up, at their invitation, to interview Darragh Murphy.

You can think what you will of their motivations, but we can all grant them, most of them, a sincere devotion to what they think is an imortant cause.  Was it all just done to protect Zbridge's tax breaks?

In his first major election campaign after the Democrat Convention at Denver, Colorado last week, Sen. Obama stressed that he and his running mate Sen. Joseph Biden are serious about cutting off tax breaks for those companies which ship jobs overseas. Instead he said, that tax incentives will go to those companies that invest and create more jobs in the US.
