Sen. Stabenow slaps Kyl!

This will be short (and oh so sweet), but I wonder if you could see the spittle flying from the mouth of John Kyl (R-Aholeville) after Senator Debbie Stabenow smacked his ugly mug today during the Finance Committee hearings: 09/kyl-i-dont-need-maternity-care-staben ow-your-mom-probably-did.php?ref=fpblg

Just before the Senate Finance Committee wrapped up for the long weekend, members debated one of Sen. Jon Kyl's (R-AZ) amendments, which would strike language defining which benefits employers are required to cover.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) argued that insurers must be required to cover basic maternity care. (In several states there are no such requirements.)

"I don't need maternity care," Kyl said. "So requiring that on my insurance policy is something that I don't need and will make the policy more expensive."

Stabenow interrupted: "I think your mom probably did."

The amendment was defeated, nine to 14.

Yes, Senator John Kyl, standing up for Rich White Males everywhere, making sure we don't do anything crazy like provide maternity care for expectant mothers.

I mean, why should we join the rest of the advanced countries of the world, when the Republican ideal is to make sure we hang down with the impoverished 3rd world countries who also don't have maternity care.

Can these guys sound anymore like A-hole bastards, can they?
Jesus wept....

Gee, I wonder if Kyl would oppose

Stabenow suggesting removing coverage for Prostate Cancer, after all, SHE probably doesn't need that covered any time soon?

And, aren't these the pro-life warriors, who scream constantly about unborn children?

The mind reels...

Re: Gee, I wonder if Kyl would oppose

Yeah, except if she said she doesn't need prostate cancer screening, she'd open herself up to the witty retort: "yeah, but your Mom probably did."

It'd be cool if they started chopping on each other in the Senate.

Re: Sen. Stabenow bitchslaps Kyl!

Feelings are neither right nor wrong. That having been said, I can't help but feel that Kyl should contract a hideous disease and suffer an agonizing and slow death, his pain maintained for as long as possible utilizing every hideous contraption they've got in the medical arsenal, at taxpayers' expense of course.

I don't want that to happen, but it's a feeling I can't shake.

I just wish it was like Twilight Zone

And, one day, Kyl and his ilk wake up on the streets...

And, the US has been transformed, and Blacks and Latinos are the dominant population, and he is a poor homeless whiteman on the street...

And, as he goes through is day, he is scorned and riduculed, he finds out that a NEW conservative government has shut down social programs, and he finds out very quickly how it looks from the bottom looking up.

And, of course, we have Rod Serling delivering the tag line

"Portrait of a rich white politician who turned a corner and found a world that he didn't know he helped create, a world he ignored, and a world he is now at the bottom of....Portrait of a Republican Senator living his his own Free-Market the Twilight Zone!"

don't like your diary title

but I do love the story. It's pathetic that nine people voted for his amendment.

Uh oh!

This diary managed to raise the blood pressure of our old pal Farrightdemokook.  And we know how hard it is to upset that happy clam of the keyboard.

Congrats Wash, you're the (unnamed) subject of the only recommended diary at the kitty-korner!  It's nice to know that Farrighty has found himself a swell home over there.  He sure works it, pounding out his Rooneyish ramblings almost as often as he posted here.  Of course he doesn't get the 'fight' he seemed to relish so much, instead he has to make do with a handful of unchallenging comments.  Poor lad, at least he's still writing about us and, in other diatri... I mean diaries, his Great Orange Satan.

Of course the excellent point of your diary doesn't actually enter into FlightyRighty's 'surgical evisceration' of your fine work.
