I think that it is getting pretty clear that a contracting-based hybrid between socialism and capitalism is the worst of both worlds in terms of delivering services at a reasonable cost. It's why our health care and utlities are a disaster, and is part of why the Iraq war is making so little progress at so great of a cost.

I think the first response is right--you do enough oversight to make all the things that Bush and Cheney did nice and obvious and in the open. Then, you don't have to make the case fo impeachment--it's already sitting out there.
Arguments about electibility have screwed us sooooo many times in the past. How about we stop guessing what voters in Texas and Wyoming will go for and let's just nominate someone we actually like. It's a lot easier to pick someone you like than it is to guess what someone else might like.
And, if you win, you end up with a much better President.
Do the residents of these islands want to be grouped together or tacked onto Hawaii? I have never even talked to a Guamian on the internet, much less in person. PR at least has a strong pro-statehood movement
