Maybe it's a little of what you say, but the real reason for the half hour ad buys, besides the fact that he can, is sheer genius.
I was just saying yesterday. The last debate is next Wednesday? What are they going to do for the last 2 weeks of the campaign? How do they control the media? Well now Obama has answered it.
We are in desperate times, and horrifying news cycles. Obama has set up a moment, just a few days before the election, to go on TV, and inspire, which is something he does really well. Depending upon what is going on by then, he'll outline his plans, inspire people, and calm them. He will do it in a setting so reminiscent of an oval office address, especially with Bush giving those every couple of days now, and the comparison will be stark. People will see him as President, and they'll say, "That's what I want."
And McCain will be unable to effectively counter it. It's Obama getting the last word, on his terms. It's beautiful. I don't need to be a fly on the wall of McCain headquarters to know that the first words out of them upon hearing the news of this TV buys were, "Oh shit."
what the granularity of the clicking is. What I mean is that if I do a search and click through to the McCain site, and then click back to the search and click through again, does that count as two clicks they have to pay for? Or do they limit it to 1 click per day per originating IP address for example.
This is a diary? Four sentences that would sound familiar to any middle schooler? Just being a jerk or are you trying to irritate people who may have come to the Obama campaign through the PUMA route? What a waste of space.
They won't totally go into the gutter. McCain brought out the knives, so Obama brought out the shotgun, but think they'll fire only in quick response to being fired upon. Expect a K5 discussion at the debate tomorrow though.
He's been SO much more patient than most of his supporters. He's known all along that McCain would be backed into a corner and lash out with the Ayers and Wright stuff and they've patiently kept their powder dry, holding the K5 in reserve. Now it's time.
Had many supporters had their way he would have gone here ages ago.
In addition to Palin and other surrogates obviously peddling the Ayers and Wright stuff this weekend, Republican 527s are running Ayers association ads in battleground states. Obama has obviously had this in reserve for just such an occasion and now its, "You wanna go there? Let's go there."
