Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

In the past few months Hillary Clinton:

Lied about her opposition to the war in Iraq
Lied about ducking sniper fire in Bosnia
Lied about her opposition to NAFTA
Lied about negotiating peace in Ireland
Lied about creating SCHIP
Lied about passing FMLA
Lied about intervention in Rwanda
Lied about being first to call Darfur genocide
Lied about helping Kosovo refugees in Macedonia
Planted questions in her own town hall meetings

She was caught red handed each time and she is still running for president? Am I missing something? Why are we still talking about primary polls and delegates and not talking about how Obama will beat John McCain in November?

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

the hospital story may not have been as false as originally reported

at this point I would call it a wash and leave it alone, its only going to get more confusing and complicated,

basically BOTH Hillary AND the Media screwed up at some parts.

Re: It's still a lie and should have been checked

Hey maybe you should watch the video below : Bk

Now after seeing that video you still insist she lied , plus the washington post story , then I would know you are wasting my spare time.

At some point you would have to elevate your comments from the kindergarten level and be able to process new information and adjust your thinking based on that.

Its not enough to just insist " its still a lie " in the face of new evidence.

Even MSNBC who had been running with the story realized they have egg on their faces.

That station is devoid of credibility at this point.

Now did you notice how Lori

was able to say Clinton 'lied' or mis-spoke on an issue.  I am curious, can you do the same of Obama?  Did he lie when he told us that he was never in attendance for one of Reverend Wrights bombasts and then said he was- for instance?

Good Lord.

That's not what he said!!!

He said he wasn't in the pews for any of the sermons on the video clip.

He said he was in the pews when Wright has said controversial things.

Is that so hard to understand?

here are some from the Washington Post
Here the LA times lets us know how Obama is full of it.
Politico catches him and what seems half his campaign lying
and let us not forget him telling us repeatedly that he will get the troops out of Iraq in 16 months, but it turns out he really meant all of them but 60 to 80 thousand.

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)
I will vote for Hillary in the GE, but Morning Joe actually got it right this morning that perception is reality. Her poll numbers in PA have peaked. The best she can hope for is to hold onto 54% There WILL NOT be a bigger than 55/45 split. She will only win PA by single digits, maybe even less than 5%. Her popular vote argument will die, and the "The Schakowsky eight" will endorse the next day. The perception that Hillary can't be trusted will not stick to her fans on DD, but it will in PA.

Funny the NYT has an article saying HRC is i fact correct about the hospital story.  Thus, your post is a lie.  By your own defination you are a lair and as such, I must question why i should believe anything from someone who is caught in a lie.  Really you should check you sources better but since you didn't i have to assume you are lair.  I am sure you understand that I must hold you to the same standard that you hold others to.

And if you are lying about one thing i think it logical to assume you are lying about other things about HRC as well.  I am sorry but i really have no choice here.

peace out.

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

I reread the original post to be sure and no, she didn't even mention the hospital story. She mentioned a bunch of other stories, though, which you didn't mention for some reason. Maybe you prefer to talk about one of Clinton's stories that turned out to be mostly true, but why not talk about some of the other ones in the post.

by Becky G 2008-04-07 05:44PM | 0 recs
Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

The hospital story bore some relationship to reality but many details were not true.

Yes, the young woman did not go to a particular hospital because she had owed it money.

However, that hospital did not "turn her away" when she went there because -- she didn't go there.

Also, contrary to Clinton's claims, the women did have health insurance at the time she sought help during the pregnancy.

Also, she did get into another hospital.

Washington Post: /2008/04/07/clinton_told_true_tale_of_wo e.html
"At the time she went into debt to that hospital, Casto said, Bechtel was uninsured, though she later obtained health insurance and was insured at the time of her death. . . Casto said her niece, who suffered from preeclampsia during her pregnancy, did not seek care at the first hospital she when she fell ill because she knew she did not have the $100 out-of-pocket she believed she would need to be seen. Instead, she went to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, where her baby was stillborn."

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

You forgot Michigan were she stated "Certainly we know these elections won't count for anything."

Then the whole we should count the Michigan vote.

by hootie4170 2008-04-07 05:46PM | 0 recs
Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

You also forgot that she said in the same interview that she was on the ballot because it was important that these individuals had a role in the convention and we could not expect to not seat them and win in Michigan in November. But hey, what's misreperesenting the facts if you're talking about Hillary, right?

by zcflint05 2008-04-07 05:49PM | 0 recs
Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

If you read or listen to the whole conversation she stated that the Democratic Primary vote will not count for anything pertaining to the nomination process.  Her second statement was pointed at the GE in which she said she did not want to give the GOP a perceived advantage and was just a strategy for the GE.

by hootie4170 2008-04-07 06:06PM | 0 recs
Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

The bottom line is, Hillary had her name on the ballot because she want the people of Michigan to know that their voices will be heard. Obama has stomped that--and now Senator Obama and his supporters will have to deal with being the camp that denied the voters of Michigan and Florida a say in one of the most hotly contested primaries in this party's history.

by zcflint05 2008-04-07 06:10PM | 0 recs
Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

Having their voices heard is one thing but she said their vote for the Democratic wouldn't count toward electing the Democratic nominee.  I mean those are her words, and now she is going back on her word...Maybe this is why this happening "A recent Gallup Poll found that 53 percent of Americans think Clinton isn't "honest and trustworthy."

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

Let me give you the whole thing...April 6, 2008

A recent Gallup Poll found that 53 percent of Americans think Clinton isn't "honest and trustworthy." Just 29 percent said the same of her Democratic rival Barack Obama, and 27 percent said it of Republican John McCain.

McCain's 67 percent favorable rating over Sen. Barack Obama's 62 percent and Sen. Hillary Clinton's 53 percent, ties for his highest in Gallup polling history, the pollster said Tuesday.

Yeah, I can see how this is close.

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

In the past few months Barack Obama has:

Lied on NAFTA (on a nationally televised debate, no less)
Lied on his steadfast opposition to Iraq (He personally stated he didn't know how he would have voted in 04 and 06)
Lied on Wright (said he was never in a sermon where he said controversial things, then said he was)
Lied on Resko (Resko donated more than Bambi said he did)
Lied on being fluent in Indonesian as a child
Lied on parents concieving him in Selma

Do you really want to go down this trail? I think not. I'll debunk your baseless claims later, but rest assured, Senator Jesus has been doing more than his fair share of lying in this race.

Re: Am I missing something? (Hillary?)

I feel like I am in a time-warp and watching the 2000 election.  There are so many similarities, it's scary.  Now we have the "serial liar" argument they used on Gore being used on Clinton (with an assist from other Democrats - thanks a bunch).  How did it work out in 2000 and 2004 for us when we let the media define our candidates?  First Gore, then the "Dean scream", which was played 24/7, then the swiftboaters - who didn't need any funding to run their commercials, since the media ran it for them nonstop.  Now they try yet again to damage Clinton and count her out ahead of a primary (what's this - 3rd time? 4th time?). Well, once the primaries are over, I'll be curious to see what they do (media) to fill up their time, but I'm sure it will be damaging to our candidate.
