Remember the "peacekeeper" missile?

This is one of the weirdest clips I've seen in a long time.  Weird for its honesty and for how close it comes to finally admitting that the Global War On Terror (TM) is really about hoping for another attack while spending hundreds of billions of dollars on excess military capacity.

After eight years of George Bush, I got very used to the whole "up-is-down" thing.  But the metaphysical truism in this exchange between Glenn Beck and Michael Sheuer is more like "up-is-purple".

Just watch. 855327&ref=fpblg

So, let's just get this straight.  Our current policy makes us so unsafe from Osama bin Laden that the best thing that could happen is for Osama bin Laden to pull off a major strike within the U.S.  because this would raise some kind of right-wing populist coup.  Osama bin Laden knows this and probably won't strike because he knows that he'd be put out of business if he struck.  And this is bad.  Very, very bad.  Got it.

Re: Remember the "peacekeeper" missile?

I hadn't thought of it that way.  See, Obama's policy then, a la Glenn Beck, is to make the US so unsafe and vulnerable that bin Laden WON'T attack, thereby allowing us to continue to slouch towards Gommorrah.

It's like watching two 15 dimensional grandmasters, these two.  I think bin Laden's next move might be to dissolve al Qaeda and fake his own death, causing Obama to drop his guard by RAISING his guard.  And then BAM!

Check.  Mate.
