Another GREAT DAY in Scranton PA

Wow, another great day. Take the jump and read all about the happenings in Scranton.
First and most important, yes, Newhampster lives and breaths and is taking PA by storm. What a nice guy! He was winning voters over all over the north side of Scranton. Tomorrow, who knows, we might send him to my friend XXX's house to win him over...silly Obama voter that he is.
Speaking of XXX, he was at the Obama rally tonight and lived blogged it in my email so I could share in the hope and change.
This is what my email looked like.
Hillary = Lobbyists
Well I thought it was pretty funny.
what is not so funny is that when we send people out for visibility they are getting called names, well the women are. they are getting called bitches and whores, mostly by young men. What is that all about? Why do men in their 20s think it is cleaver to yell these sorts of things at middle aged and young women supporting Hillary?
I tell them to smile back and not let it bother them, that these guys probably aren't even registered to vote. But it is hurtful and for some women who have never been active in politics before it feels personal.
Join me in the looking glass.....
Yesterday we hit 4400 doors. Huge Huge numbers for Hillary and a handful for Obama. But these were people identified as Clinton supporters in the first place.
we hit less doors today because we had a lot of tired volunteers and many who had to leave half day to get back home. But most of our out of state vols are here until Wednesday and so we are rocking this morning.
Hillary will be here and many of them are going to the rally to get to see her. I may or may not depending on how crowded it looks to get. I would love to get her to sign my book, but we shall see..
I am still looking for ulsterdem. Now I am thinking he is a myth. Ulster, I am the woman who spent the last two days at the reception desk handing out scripts and answering the phone. I have short reddish blond hair. Come say hi.
Yesterday Tony Rodham, his wife Meagan and daughter Fiona were in the office for a little bit. They went canvassing and got a great response for Hillary of course. Then everyone wanted their picture taken with them and the baby. She is adorable, about 16 months old and she looks like her grandma Rodham, cousin Chelsea and Aunt Hillary. She was tired but adorable. She smile at me.. I am sure I was the only person in the office she smiled at. LOL
Meagan said that every stop Hillary makes here they go and at the end Hillary "has to have Fiona time".
I guess as hard as the campaign trail is, it's nice to get unconditional love for a few minutes and according to her Mom, Fiona goes right to Hillary and just loves and trusts her unconditionally.
Okay now that the Ahhhh time is over I have to go shower, find my book and get to the office.Update [2008-4-21 12:27:50 by TeresaInPa]:
I was just at the rally in Scranton. I lost NewHampster and Ulsterdem (hey ulster, my sister lives in New Paltz) because I went up on stage.
My first thought was that she looked GORGEOUS. Okay, that is so shallow, but she was wearing a great jacket and she looked rested and ready.
The people of Scranton love her. She is from here as far as we are concerned, her father and grandparents are burried near my in laws in west side. And she is our kind of people, no nonsense, hard working and smart as a whip.
Again the whole family was there and she mentioned the "Scranton" commercial that was taken from footage that was shot by and was sitting in the attic of her neighbor for all these years.
She spoke about green jobs and ending the war etc... but she could barely get a word in edgewise for all the yelling and cheering. Everyone had to tell her how proud we are of her not backing down and fighting for us.
I got my book signed and she even put my name in it. I told her she was making me proud and she thanked me.
So today I am manning the front desk again and maybe later I will canvass again. It's fun. If you have never done it, please try it. We have men and women in their 70s out there, so if they can do it so can you.
Update [2008-4-21 12:50:21 by TeresaInPa]: I wanted to add this video in honor of the Texans who are here helping us...
