• If college kids claim residency in a state other than their home state, will it be an issue when their parents claim them as tax deductions?  Don't dependents have to officially live in the same house as the parents?

Sheeze, still no specifics from Obama.  He needs to show himself to be a leader on this issue.

Tomorrow I expect him to say "Treasury had better do this right, or a very stern letter will be coming from a bipartisan committee that I will recommend to study the matter in depth before something else happens".

Yikes, crikes.  If we are losing independents by that much, we are so screwed.  I am very worried about women.  Rasmussen says  Obama's lead among women has shrunk to only 3%.  Not good at all.  I suppose that's the Palin effect, which may fade.

Let's face it, about 45% will vote for the democrat candidate and 45% will vote for the republican.  It's that other 10% we need to worry about.

It's not helping that our guy is admitting that the surge worked.  Nor is it helping that he looks so, well, wimpy.  He needs to ''man up", particularly since he's running against McCain.

Those figures were released, slightly more democrats than republicans were polled.  :(

We cannot count on young people to stay excited from April until November.  Plus, I fear too many young women will vote for Palin.

When did Biden last live in PA?  Wasn't it 40 years ago?  How many will remember him?

I think Obama will win PA but not because of Biden being a home town hero.  jmo

  • I don't think attacking the PTA is a good idea.  People may think that community organizers don't do anything (because they don't know anything about it) but most parents belong to the PTA and think that the PTA is a really good thing for their kids.

  • Of course.  If McCain wins, Palin will run after his terms.  If he loses, she'll run on her own, against Hillary, in 2012.

Yes, the RNC only brought in $1 million but the McCain campaign had it's best month ever, $47 million in August.  :(

Anyone know what the DNC brought in and how much the Obama campaign collected in August?

  • on a comment on Post-McCain Speech Thread over 5 years ago

McCain already did.  Why not Obama?

I'm getting worried.  Palin brought in $12 million in 72 hours.  Obama not releasing his amounts is worrisome.

  • on a comment on Post-McCain Speech Thread over 5 years ago

This was good for republicans.  McCain ditched the republican stuff and took the change thing from Obama.  Palin is certainly a big change.

Why am I getting this sinking feeling that Obama is so yesterday and McCain/Palin is the new news?

Did Rachel Maddow just say that this election will be about character vs ideas?  What does that mean?   Obama has ideas but no character?  Or he has character but no ideas?

  • on a comment on Post-McCain Speech Thread over 5 years ago

If Palin is the VP, Hillary can run in 2012.  But she can't do that if Biden is Veep.

  • Or on the bottom of the ticket?  Which do you think Americans will feel more comfortable with?  On the job training, or no training at all?

This 'lack of experience'  is a loser for us.  It only points out how little experience our guy has on the top of the ticket.

  • Who was not African American, wouldn't have been chosen either.  Hillary would be our nominee if the DNC and the MSM had not fallen in love with this unknown Black Senator.  Let's not forget that's what we will hear if we go down the road of gender politics.  They'll turn back to our guy's lack of experience and his race.

After announcing Palin, McCain surged to a 90% approval rating among republicans.  Palin has brought in $10 million to the McCain in the last 3 days.  She ain't going anywhere.  The republican base is FIRED up to support this ticket.  :(

Huh?  Sorry, but I am not seeing the link between bad levies and John McCain.

McCain is dealing with the disaster, talking about it, canceling convention events.  At the convention he's setting up phone banks and charity programs to help people in the hurricane areas.  Also he's meeting with the Governors involved.

Meanwhile, Obama and Biden are campaigning?  Is that what I saw here?  Surely they are doing something more than that.  Aren't they?  Where the heck are they?  What are they doing to help people in the hurricane states?  What are they saying?

We cannot let McCain act like a President while our guys are no where to be found!
