Bill Courts OJ Jury, Area 51 Vote!!

   http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/26/b ill.clinton.mon/index.html

Here we have it folks. The latest excuse from the Clinton campaign, coming from the Big Dog himself. It's not that Hillary has run a poor campaign, it's not that Obama beat her throughout red, blue and purple America. It's now a COVER UP that will stop Hillary from being the Democratic nominee.

With this statement, Bill has finally revealed who he is after. He's after the Area 51 vote and the OJ Simpson Jury vote. To speak plainer English, Bill is after people who are easily swayed by bullshit theories in the hopes of keeping his wife's flagging campaign ahead of the obvious end result.

I do not mean he is courting those who are accused of covering up the secrets of Area 51. Nor do I believe that he is courting those 12 monumental fools who served on the Simpson Jury for their votes. Rather, he is simply courting people LIKE THEM, people who are easily swayed by such nonsense as a conspiracy theory.

Look in the link at what former President Clinton said. "Oh, this is so terrible: The people they want her. Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and he is not. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up." Let's examine this statement shall we?

Who the hell is he talking about? The media? The media, who blew up Barack Obama's comments about SOME people being bitter into a national outcry? The same media that dutifully lectured Obama for his ties to Jeremiah Wright not once, but twice? I'm not at all suggesting that the media was easy on Hillary, that's equally absurd. But if the "THEY" that Clinton is talking about is the media, then he's making no sense.

So who is the "THEY?" Who else could it be? Bill, conveniently, doesn't say. Is it the Obama campaign? Well, SHOCKER, they want to stop Hillary from being nominated. REALLY? Her opponent for the nomination doesn't want her to be nominated? Not once does Bill let on to WHO this THEY is? He merely lectures us that THEY are covering up Hillary's chances, and cites as evidence the lack of attention paid to certain polls in the last few days.

Another quote from Bill. "And there is another Electoral College poll that I saw yesterday had her over 300 electoral votes. ... She will win the general election if you nominate her. They're just trying to make sure you don't." Now, in all fairness to Bill, in this one he is talking about the media at first. But then again, what is he saying? That the media wants to make sure the voters don't nominate Hillary?

Once again, he is either lying or just being ignorant. Barack Obama has been taken to task by the media in the last two months. The Clintons whining about Hillary's RFK comments are a bit rich, considering how they desperately tried to keep Bittergate, equally a non-story on the front pages and on the prime-time news casts.

So what the hell is Bill doing here? To me, it's simple. He's simply trying to create more controversy where none exists. And he's using the words that so many people love to hear when they want to find an excuse for anything...COVER UP.

Just like the Area-51 COVER UP, where supposedly the military and the White House are hiding the fact that an alien spaceship crashed in the United States and is currently in our possession.

Or the OJ Simpson Jury, who bought hook, line and sinker, the ridiculous notion that OJ was a victim of a racist LAPD cover up to pad their win/loss record. Never mind that OJ's blood was at the murder scene and Goldman's blood (whom OJ had never met) was in OJ's home and vehicle. This jury, 12 of the biggest idiots to ever be collected together, decided that the cover up theory was valid.

These are the types of people Bill wants to court now. Those who are easily swayed by nonsense, and easily inflamed at the slightest hint of injustice. 6 months ago, it was virtually unthinkable that Hillary would not win this nomination. Now that she's lost it (and she has, sorry Clintonites), someone has to be blamed, some excuse has to come out. COVER UP is what Bill Clinton is now saying. It's not that Hillary blew her chances, it's not that she wasted a huge campaign war chest, it's not that she ignored caucus states, it's not that she underestimated her opponent, it's all a big COVER UP by a mysterious THEY that Bill never identifies. Good grief!

Bill's evidence for the cover up? New polls showing that Hillary would beat McCain and Obama would lose to him. If one were to believe him here, then surely we must believe that he won the Presidency based on a cover up. After all, polls in June had him in 3RD PLACE....losing not only to President Bush, but to a 3rd party candidate as well. So, if these polls prove a cover up, what did those polls prove? That Bill won his election via fraud? I mean seriously, if we're supposed to decide based on polls this far out, how in God's name did he b/c President? He wasn't even in second place in some polls, he was in 3rd. If Bill believes this cover up shit, then I think we have a right to ask him how in the hell did he get elected?

Not to mention if there truly was a media conspiracy against his wife...perhaps someone in the media would have reminded him that at one point in his campaign, he was in 3rd place. And came back to win quite a convincing victory. So, for all the Clinton supporters screaming about media bias, I wonder why no one has asked him (or her) that question.

I really hope people come to realize this nonsense for what it is.  Anytime someone yells cover up, you can usually take it to the bank that they are full of s***. I'm truly sorry, for I admire Bill Clinton and think he was a fantastic President. He is simply trying to take advantage of the ignorance of some and the anger of others. As far as I'm concerned, he can have the OJ Jury and Area 51 votes. People who believe such nonsense are too far gone to be reasoned with!!

Re: Obama courts....

So are you saying Hillary said FU to MN, NE, KS, LA, CO, WY, AK, HI, ID and ME?

Not to mention that he's been to Puerto Rico and will be back, so your comment is ridiculous....but I guess some just can't control their bitterness.

I notice you didn't comment at all on Bill's ridiculous statements. Even absurd to you eh? Good.

The Vast Obamabot Conspiracy

I think that Bill would look very good in a tinfoil hat, cocked at a jaunty angle, of course.

Re: Bill Courts OJ Jury, Area 51 Vote!!

What a fool he has become; one of the real costs of this election, when the dust has settled and we look back during the first year of the Obama administration, will be the loss of stature the Clintons have brought on themselves

But he had further to fall than shed did

Re: Bill Courts OJ Jury, Area 51 Vote!!

Well, I don't agree with your assessments but thank you for posting this diary because Bill's speech was excellent in my opinion.

He's a great example of a politician being able to cut to the chase and explain things in universal terms, rather than riding vacuous torrents of rhetoric into an abyss of meaninglessness.

I understand your frustration with Bill because it's probably obvious to you how easily his message connects with and resonates with voters.  Only a select few technocrats would be swayed by mechanical specious arguments about rules when those rules (which incidentally provide the very mechanisms for seating FL/MI fully) threaten core principles of democracy.  I thought Obama was backing away from his covert anti-FL/MI stance but he reaffirmed it with striking arrogance today.  Seriously, Obama knows how to alienate voters.

Re: Bill Courts OJ Jury, Area 51 Vote!!

It speaks to voters.  Sorry, but it resonates.

"Show the media who's right and who's wrong."

It's good strategy.
