John Edwards dropping out

Does this turn it into a race for his endorsement? Obama should have a clear advantage on this. On the other hand, even if Obama gets Edwards' support, the clear winner in this is Hillary Clinton, who will now be the lone candidate for downscale Dems.

UPDATE (9:23pm): Weird that CNN isn't talking more about this. They're reporting on the chaos in Kenya. Hmmmm....

UPDATE (9:25pm): OK, now they're back on the topic. I guess organizing panels and talking heads takes a bit of time...New Orleans, 1pm, official announcement.

I have to admit, I am stunned about this- did not see it coming.  And even more shocked that he says he won't endorse at this time.  It's like, why now?

At any rate, I do hope that either Hillary or Obama would make him Attorney General if either one wins.
