I haven't been to MyDD in a while and it's sad that ths is the first thing I read. Some anonymous person threatens an obscure radio host and that means Obama supporters are both immature and murderous. Rather ridiculous in my opinion.
I think Hagel could be a good pick due to the fact that he would be a good symbol. Obama running with a unity ticket would be a good compliment to his New Politics theme.
Also, I think we all know that Hagel will not get the nomination in 8 years which would give the party the flexibility to run someone not attached to the administration which could: a) prevent a future candidate from suffering from administration fatigue, and b) opens the door for Clinton in 2016 without her having to be on the ticket.
These townhall meetings are McCain's strong suit? Wasn't it during a townhall meeting that McCain made his 100 years war remark?
I think Obama should accept, but he should make the location his choice. McCain is trying to order him around in order to make Obama look inferior, so take the debate but set the location yourself. If McCain refuses, go straight to, "What's he afraid of?"
To be honest, as much as I read about how delegates are allocated I still get confused. We've got to trust the system.
However, I will concede that this close race between Clinton and Obama has exposed some serious flaws in the system. Perhaps we should require caucuses to keep popular vote totals and maybe even get rid of the superdelegates.
However, that's a fight for the convention and in fairness to the process cannot be put into play for this contest.
