Quick list of DemFest blogging links

From the diaries--Chris

Cross-posted at BooMan Tribune and Daily Kos

We've all been so busy at Democracy Fest here in Austin, and the wi-fi on the Huston-Tillotson campus was spotty, so few have had a chance to write in-depth diaries yet. Expect to see them appearing over the next week or so, as attendees get home, absorb, and find time to write. In the meantime, you can satisfy your DemFest curiosity at the links listed below the fold, listed roughly in order of amount of DemFest material. Scroll down on each site--I didn't make links to each post, and some sites have multiple posts. If you know of other links, please add them in the comments. Links below the fold...

Thanks Roses
Here are some highlights from Senator-to-be Barbara Ann Radnofsky's report on the Bloggers' Breakfast as posted on Seth's offsite blog.

Markos: It's good to see people organizing and also getting off line in combining outside activism. We need to use this acitivism. We like feedback, and we'd like to interact.

Jerome: It's encouraging to see people from over 40 states. You've no idea of your circle of influence. The smaller traffic on your sites is intimate and can be powerful. You must know how to integrate, building the seedlings. [He discussed techniques of use.] We are an extension of the message machine. Get the info to your local bloggers and they get it out. You win by sharing with a neighbor, small networks within a state. We'll see that influence. Don't underestimate the influence of your blog. You can never tell who is reading it.

After the breakfast, I was honored to be able present matching stuffed armadillos to thank Jerome and Markos. Then, bloggers started introducing themselves, and we could put well-known names to faces from Maryland, Iowa, Boston, Missouri, Virginia, Evanston, Vancouver, Washington, the mother of a blogger from New York, the wife of Mr. Sensitive, and a blogger from Tokyo!

Jerome was an awesome presence at DemFest, moderating a panel on New Media, speaking with Markos at the Bloggers' Breakfast, and patrolling Stubbs Saturday Night.  He talked extensively with many Bloggers, had a nice conversation with Barbara Ann Radnofsky about the US Senate Race in which she is taking on Kay Bailey Hutchison, and chatted at length with Rich Bailey, a member of the Texas Democratic Party's SDEC from Austin, after the Bloggers' Breakfast.

While Jerome told me he was going to turn the stuffed armadillo Barbara Ann gave him over to his five year old, down here in Texas we know better.

i haven't gotten around to posting yet thanks to the terribly shitty wireless access we had at HTU.  will update later, and will read these entries in the meantime.

Re: thanks for the list
You're welcome for the list. I think just about everybody I know who went is in a recovery/integration phase after the conference, and most of us are back at work today. I know the wi-fi was spotty on the HTU campus. I've been told that it was reliable in the student union building, but I don't think the word got out about that. I enjoyed meeting you, and I'm looking forward to your report(s) and perspective on DemFest.
