You're Doing it WRONG!!1!

This is intended as a lighthearted break, and a little laugh at the ludicrosity of the primary wars (I posted part of this earlier on kos). If you aren't prepared to have a little fun, save this and read it later. No whining in the comments, unless it's clever enough for mojo.

Seriously, people, these are yard sign wars. You should not have two signs, for different candidates running against each other.  Your family should argue in private, decide on one or the other, and put up one sign. Putting up two signs does nothing, and wastes signs that more decisive households could use.

Yes, we know, they're both wonderful candidates. But that's not what yard sign wars are all about. They were supposed to be about name recognition, but anyone who doesn't know whose running by now is ignorant (if you can't pronounce the name, that's justifiable. but you should know something, by now).  So the next thing is an implied endorsement. I believe in this person, and I ain't afraid to let my neighbors know. You like me, think I'm a reasonable person, give my guy a look, yes?

And that's reasonable too. But people who have both of them up, and I've seen two in this city... You are doing it wrong.

Let me end this diary with a thank you to everyone who donated their Obama signs back to the campaign. [amend: was Hillary doing that too? Don't have any f2f friends on her campaign] Most of the signs I see are recycled (blacked out voting dates, or duct taped).

And thanks for all the creativity, Obama and Hillary supporters you make me smile.

Now, I've heard all sorts of crazy stuff on the 'net. Stuff like "I won't put up a bumpersticker because I drive bad." I'm here to tell you that's crazy talk. Be a supporter, and trust that you don't always drive so badly. Be a supporter and wear a pin, even if you, like me, swear a mean blue streak.

But DON'T

Don't

don't

Put up a sign for your candidate in the window, and answer the door nude, repeatedly, at 8:30 in the Morning! There are bounds of respect, decency, and "That does NOT reflect well on your candidate."

To the male citizen whose private parts were prominently displayed at eye level to me, I wasn't laughing at you -- your neighbor had a better sign up, anyhow.

Does it still count as nude if I'm wearing Saran Wrap???

Re: You're Doing it WRONG!!1!

Okay, how about having an Obama sign in my window, strategically placed to obscure my naughty bits while I walk around the apartment naked?

Then again, I've got a lot of windows, and do a lot of naked jumping jacks, so I guess I'll need more signs.

Re: You're Doing it WRONG!!1!

True story:  My good neighbors, (wife supports Obama, husband supports Hillary), did exactly that.

They had a Hillary sign on one side of the driveway, and an Obama sign on the other side.

People used to stop, and literally do a double take.  Everyone got a smile out of it.

Cheers
