Remember when the erstwhile Gov of Wisconsin threatened the use of the National Guard before he even submitted his "budget".
Now that the police have shown themwselves to be "unreliable" by not clearing out the capital building can the National Guard be far behind?
Or have the officers of that force made it clear to the Gov. that to many of its members are union members who would not accept orders to beat peaceful demonstrators in the name of union busting and the Koch brothers.
Now is the time for the Gov. to try to up the ante with an attempted show of the iron fist.
The question is whether the iron fist will obey the Gov?

So it is reported by the surrender folks in the administration that a government shutdown is off the table.
Sounds like health care, Gitmo, DADT and all so many other issues that Obama has decided the best strategy is to surrender in the first stages of the battle.
Since the R's haven't specifically stated this only the obama's defeatist OMB what does one think will happen?
Say the R's in the house pass a CR for the rest of the year, or a new debt limit bill, that requires cuts in social security or other draconian measures and refuses to compromise. Then Obama has the choice of either selling out the country, the people and the democratic party by signing it to avoid a government shutdown or going back on his "agreement" by vetoing it thus triggering a shutdown.
Thus like in the health care debate when he said single payer was off the table, or the prosecution of criminals from the last administration, or refusing to lift DADT by executive order or any one of all to many surrenders He gave away his best bargaining chip before sitting down at the table.
Once again when people speak of Obama's administration as being a "Manchurian Candidate" they mean for the corporatist elite play the tune they dance to.

I had bet that Rep. David Rivera (R-Fla.) would be the first scandal resignation of this congress. His financial dealings and campaign accounts have been simmering since before the election but obviously i was wrong New York state won't take 2nd to Florida in anything so Rep. Christopher Lee (R-NY) has led the way.
Cost me $5

Just listened to Rachel Maddow talk about how the Egytian government is trying to incite violence to justify a crackdown on the "Lawless" protesters.
Why shouldn't it work in Egypt when it worked so will at the 2008 R Convention where the police/ security apparatus attacked peaceful protesters in the name of keeping the order and only when the choas that was created from the actions of the security apparatus were the compliant press allowed to "report" what they were told. Look back at the 2004 R Convention in NYC where illegal mass detentions were the order of the day.
If the reporters did not tell the "official" story they were harassed and arrested. Ask Amy Goodman.
So the Egyptian government has just learned from the US security apparatus in how to cow and intimidate its citizens.
