A Christian Can Be a Christian or a Liberal, But He Can't Be Both
Source: TownHall.com
By Doug Giles

Can a Christian be a liberal? Short answer: no. There is no way a Christian can buy into neo-liberal ideology and be faithful to the bigger-than-Dallas teachings of the scripture and expect to continue enjoying his hard-won religious liberties.

For the "Christian" to lean politically to the left means that he must blow off huge chunks of the Bible and replace the scripture with the make-believe notions of postmodernism's malleable "Christ." Only after torturing the scripture can the Christian then fit liberalism into his supposed relationship with God.

For the Christian who believes that unfeigned faith in Christ should correspond with Jesus' high view of scripture, it is impossible to believe in God and be an adherent to postmodern liberalism.

Liberalism has been hijacked by bizarre special-interest thugs who defy the Word of God and believe that the Bible has no place in public life (except maybe in a museum where people can look at it from time to time).

The Christian skipping around the maypole wearing his rose-colored glasses who has a bent to the liberal left needs to understand something: if it were left up to the modern, secularized liberal establishment, he would be more restricted than Bill when Hillary's in town. If the Christophobic thugs had it their way, Christians would be relegated to a marginalized spiritual ghetto on the sidelines of life.

For the naive Christian voter who thinks he can toss a ballot in the Nuevo liberal direction, please know that a vote toward the secular left could leave you bereft of sacred liberties. Thanks to the aggressive and ludicrous liberal lug nuts' anti-Christian agenda, your vote for a liberal Christian is a vote for:

1. Christianity to be scrubbed from government and whatever turf the government owns. Thanks to the liberals, the Ten Commandments have about as much acceptance in our government and their properties as Rush Limbaugh would at Al Franken's family reunion. The Judeo-Christian principles that formed the rock-solid foundation of this great American Experiment are now aggressively and consistently attacked by the lascivious left.

If . . . if . . . the secularists continue to stay behind the wheel of this American bus, you can kiss all semblance of Christianity good-bye in this heretofore God-graced government. Saint, you might as well say farewell to our government's recognizing Christmas and adios to Good Friday if you're going to vote the liberal ticket. If the secularists have it their way, Easter will be behind your keister, and you can kiss the Cross good-night as an acceptable public symbol that represents your faith and our nation's recognition of Christ's atoning work.

2. Secularism to be continually mainlined into our public school system. Thanks to rabid, vapid secularism, our public schools and universities would rather you be a Rocky Horror super freak than a Christian. If your beliefs run to the bizarre or the banal; or if you want to smoke the same philosophical crack that Caligula, Nero, Castro or Lenin freebased, they'll accommodate you.

Our schools are totally open to anyone and to anything, unless, of course, you're a Christian. And if that's the case, then you're likely to get more sympathy from a badger with minimal sleep than you will from liberal educators who are hard at work making your life hard. Let me repeat: A vote for the secular left is a vote for Christianity to continue to be officially vilified on campus and for Christians to be ostracized in campus life.

3. Public officials, employees and appointees to be pressured to hide their faith in the closet and suppress their public displays of belief in God lest they be grouped with Hitler, Osama, or Mussolini and then fired. Not only will the liberals aggressively work to prohibit the State from green lighting and recognizing Christianity as a legitimate and positive force in our land, they will also attempt to stifle Christians from influencing the path of government.

4. Public attacks on churches and Christians and attempts to restrict them in the private sector. Consider this, Christian pastor and Christian lay person looking to vote for the ludicrous left: the secular Mafioso's intent is to make your ministerial life difficult, your evangelistic work taxing and your voice minimized. And good luck, pastor and church committee, in trying to buy property and get zoning with the anti-Christian libs at the helm.

5. The continued media endorsement of the same putrid, hedonistic stuff that sunk ancient civilizations. With the liberals in place, expect more weird crap in movies and on television. Expect to see more paintings of Christian symbols and saints smeared with elephant dung. Expect Christianity to be bashed and vilified and Christians made out to be buckled-shoed morons with three teeth and an IQ of 50. Expect the culture to coarsen. Expect your kids to continue to be exposed to things that only rock stars see backstage with groupies. A vote for a liberal is a vote to see Christians continue to receive special ridicule and be flogged more than a piñata during a Cinco de Mayo festival

Modern liberalism tosses out the scripture on several different levels. How a true believer in the Christ defined by the scripture can buy into what Jesus, the prophets and apostles said and also give credence to what these secular goons say is beyond me. In addition to liberalism's obvious and odious pro-holocaust-like abortion stance, its anti-biblical view of marriage, its scripture-slamming aggressive secularism, and its feckless view of our nation's defense, liberalism completely clashes with the Christian worldview. Secular liberalism's aggressive desire to eradicate Christians' rights should cause Christians to be concerned.

The Democratic Party's liberalism has degenerated over the last 40-50 years in regard to its view of Christianity and Christian rights. This party, which formerly embraced and protected our nation's great Christian heritage and teachings, no longer does so. Thus, today the Christian is between a rock and a hard place: he can either be a Christian or a liberal--but he cannot be both.

In the last twenty-five years, the media explosion has enabled people, like us, to obtain news of the world within minutes of a breaking story. I've personally tried to keep up with all of the important political news from our nation's capitol as you may have been doing, as well. I've always considered myself to be fairly well-informed, at least I did, up until the other day when I came across a story about news leaks at the nation's capitol that appeared in the Chicago Tribune. Several thoughts  went through my mind as I read this unbelievable account telling
me all about news-leaks, ... and, now hear this, and how this is all done with the co-operation of the news media! I had always believed, or then wanted to believe that there were, atleast, a few people possessing some personal integrity and strength of character. I wanted to share the Tribune story with you and get your reaction. Can I have been so naive to believe that to leak classified or secret documents was a most serious, treasonable, offense which resulted in severe punishment for the offender?
Or should I have known, all along, how these things are planted
in news services, newspapers, etc? To be perfectly honest with you, I have never seen a story before that deals with the subject of news-leaks in as much detail as this one. Or, for that matter, a story that treats the subject of news-leaks as if the whole world already knows all about them! I had pretty much believed this subject was always out there, but never really talked about very much. Well, I hope you will pass along your comments to me after reading the story:

Pssst! Did you know leaks are a D.C. routine?

By Richard T. Cooper and Faye Fiore
Tribune Newspapers

WASHINGTON: Months after U.S. troops stormed into Iraq, the Pentagon drafted a top-secret document using classified intelligence to spell out Baghdad's  involvement with Al Qaeda. It supported one of President Bush's stronger arguments  for  the war. Within days parts of the classified report appeared verbatim in a conservative magazine, The Weekly Standard, complete with the paragraph numbers that are a telltale feature of Defense Department documents. The article said the intelligence left no doubt  that Hussein had been in league with Al Qaeda.
lt was a classic leak - -the kind of national security breach that the Bush administration often has reacted to with indignation. But this tune instead of complaining, officials began holding up the article as proof of the Hussein - Bin Laden nexus.

Talking to the Rocky Mountain News, Vice-President Dick Chaney said, "One place you ought to go look is an article in The Weekly Standard here a few weeks ago." That is your best source of information about Hussein and bin Laden, he said.
Even at the time, many members of the intelligence community believed the relationship between the two was unimportant  and considered the leaked memo as a distortion of the evidence.
The episode, which unfolded in late 2003 and early 2004 reflected one of the most basic facts of life in Washington. While officials often portray leaks as renegade acts that betray the public trust, in realitv they are just as likely to be fully approved, calculated actions by loyal members of an administrations actions designed to advance an agenda, thwart enemies and manipulate public opinion.

Sometimes, planning for leaks starts in the White House. It was disclosed, Thursdav,  that former Cheney aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby has testified he was told that President Bush himself approved a leak in July 2003 of selected, material from a different classified report.. The information was meant to bolster another administration argument for the Iraq war  The White House has not denied leaking the material. Critics say such leaks helped Bush in the buildup to the war.
"Leaking is a matter of White House policy to implement an agenda" said Lanny i)avis, the former special counsel to President Bill Clinton who raised leaking to an art form during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. "That has been the case since the founding of the republic."

Specter:  Bush, Cheney should explain CIA leak !             Associated Press                                    WASHINGTON                                                    President Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney should speak publicly about their involvement in the CIA leak case, a leading Republican Senator said Sunday. "We ought to get to the bottom of it so it can be evaluated, again, by the American people, said Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee. In a federal court filing last  week, the prosecutor in the case said Chaney's former chief of staff, Lewis Libby, testified before a grand jury that he was authorized by Bush, through Chaney, to leak information from a classified document that detailed intelligence agencies' about weapons of mass-destruction in Iraq. Bush is not accused of doing anything illegal. As president he is authorized to declassify secret information. "The president may be entirely in the clear," Specter told Fox News on Sunday. But he added, it was not the right way to go about it because we ought not to have leaks in government.

Meeting to plan leaks
Today, leaking has become such a basic part of the way Washington works that officials hold meetings to decide when, where and how to leak. They cultivate reporters who can be counted on to make good use of leaks. They draft memos spelling out official leak policies so that lower level officials will know how to leak correctly
Over time, the number of different kinds of leaks and the purposes they are crafted to serve have multiplied.  There are "trial balloon" leaks to test reaction to an idea before it is officially put forward. There are leaks designed to shoot down trial balloons.
Some leaks are designed to encourage news coverage, others to kill or limit it.
Shrewd leaks can elicit prominent coverage for routine news, the news manager's equivalent of turning chicken feet into chicken salad.
In mid-March, the White House leaked copies of a new national security report to four newspapers. The New York Time, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times. The report did little more than restate well-known policy, but it got prominent play in all four papers. Most newspapers treat exclusive stories better than everyone else has. And the stories generally convey the message the White House wanted to send: a warning to Iran that it had moved to the top of the U.S. threats list. To achieve an opposite effect, blunting unfavorable news , officials may use the hiding-in-plain-sight strategy. As an example, the leak such news to the Associated Press, the national wire service to which most all media subscribe. The theory is that if everyone has the story, no one will make a big deal out of it. A variation is leaking something unfavorable on a Friday night, knowing that news gets less attention at the start of a weekend than on other days.

"Leaks are good"
To be sure, not all leaks are part of a government plan. Some leaks are designed to halt or discredit a plan or policy  that an insider does not support, or even to bring out the truth. The leaker may be a partisan, an anonymous whistle-blower or a high-minded public  servant. Leaks are good, said Joan Claybrook, president of the advocacy group, Public Citizen. "There is too much secrecy in our government."

A Must Read!

This is a definite must read, especially for those who have been diverted by poll numbers to believing that the pendulum has now swung over to the Democratic party. To Democrats, I can only say, don't rest on your laurels. Have you forgotten, both Al Gore and John Kerry held enormmous leads in the polls prior to the elections of 2000 and 2004? I, myself, have personally lost all faith in poll numbers and the way polls are taken because  the present method of polling isn't a truly accurate consensus. oof the public. If I were doing this, I would want to poll each of region of the country, separately:  ie., the Midwest, Northwest, Westcoast, Southwest, etc. I am quite sure we would arrive at very surprising results.

I would like to see a "fair playing field" for the party out of power. Therefore, I say; Democrats, Independents and the Undecideds, wake up to the fact that you're up against a very well-trained, well-disciplined opponent who has already "out-boxed" and "out-scored" you in the arena of political persuasion. Everywhere you go, south of the Mason-Dixon line, particularly into the Bible Belt, there isn't a local newspaper or a church that doesn't zealouly support the incumbent president and the Republican party!

Limestone County Superintendent Barry Carroll said Thursday that he talked with West Limestone High School teacher Steve White about showing the film.

"It's a personnel matter, and it's been handled," Carroll said. "Both I and Principal Stan Davis discussed the matter with him. He's not on suspension or anything like that."...

Too dangerous to delay: Impeach George Bush /Dick Chaney Now!

On Feb 22, 2006,in accordance with my First Ammendment Right to free speech, I submitted the following to MyDD: "Impeach George W. Bush." Bush, at the time, startled the nation by publicly saying that he would veto any Bills presented to stop Dubai's takeover of six of our east-coast seaports. Bush was saved from public humiliation by his own party when Dubai pulled out of the port authority deal. I wrote then, George W. Bush is incompetent and must be impeached now: Our nation can no longer risk our homeland and our lives to a president who not only supports, but defends the decision he has made, to turn over control of many of our main ports of entry to Dubai, a small, but very oil rich middle-east country with a history of supporting terrorism! Remember, our military equipment goes through these same ports which would then be controlled by the Dubai Government! This cannot happen. Mr. Bush's action is unconscionable. We have come to the end of the line with Mr. Bush. This is the last straw!  Please support the impeachment of Mr. Bush. Let's all join in this effort.
April 5, 2006. Today's latest news release has put both Bush and Chaney over the top! "EX-AIDE SAYS, BUSH OK'D LEAK, LIBBY'S TESTIMONY REVEALED! If this doesn't get both Republicans and Democrats rushing into political action against the Pres and VP for obstructing justice and knowingly placing American lives at risk, I don't know what else could top this? Hey America, can we really wait any longer in getting rid of these dangerous people?

Will Republicans Continue to Win Elections?

Unfortunately the Dems don't have the well-oiled,
smooth running organization that has been successfully put together by their Republican competition. Lest we forget how well Republicans did in 2000, 2002, and in 2004.

For openers, I do not believe Hillary has a prayer of winning in 2008. The Democratic Party
needs a whole bunch of new faces and new leaders.
People like Kennedy, Lieberman, Levin and Hillary need to get out of government. These people are damaged goods and now harmful to the party.

We have pressing problems in our country that really need attention!

#1  Over 45 million Americans live in poverty in this country and something should be done  about it without having to argue whose Republican or Democrat, or whose right or wrong!
#2  Over 35 million Americans don't have any health insurance coverage and something should  be done about it  and no need to  point a finger at anyone.
#3  We're pouring billions of dollars into a far-off country while we neglect our own needs in this country.
#4  We don't take heed of global warming even though we don't need to be a nuclear physicist and can plainly see how fast the Arctic and Antarctic ice fields are disappearing, that have been around for thousands of years.
#5  We see good paying jobs disappear that paid 12-15-18-20 dollars an hour. That hurts when you're raising a family while paying for a mortgage. And the best you can do is to get a job at minimum wages, if you're lucky to find one.

Who's been in charge for the last five years?

All the bull about politics doesn't matter to a person if he is going to lose his house and maybe even destroy his family because "there ain't no one minding the store."

It does matter. Again, who's been in charge for the the last five years? Who has the power?

I rest my case.

Hello Mike,
Yes, I agree with you. In our system, unless vote counting is fraudulent, it is each vote that should count. However, the whole point of my blog was to focus on the plight of an average Joe:(married,2kids,a mortgage, etc.)
Joe's company goes overseas and Joe is without a job!Best Joe can do is get work at minimum wage.
Joe needs immediate answers and can't wait for
the next election to voice his anger.
Matter of fact, Joe like many others voted for Bush because Bush said stuff like protecting the American Dream and our American Values. Joe thought campaigner Bush was speaking to Joe and all the other Joe's. Joe now sees he was fooled by Bush! Joe now wonders who were the people Bush was protecting American Dreams and American Values for if not people like him?

Are You Listening, Mr. Bush?

"Let's try, for just one brief second, to forget we're either Republicans or Democrats, or what have you! Let's just agree that we're all decent,  patriotic citizens of this great land.  Which means, we're all agreed, we all love our country and we're  proud to be Americans"

Remember, like one, we're all in the same boat and after you boil it all down, we're all looking for the same things. For starters, we all want simple honesty from our politicians. That shouldn't be too much to expect!  We just want the people we've elected in Washington to do their job. They're supposed to be working for us, from the President on down, and for nobody else, 24/7!  That's the whole essence of our democratic society and the freedoms and liberty we enjoy! Whenever they fail us, then it's time to make a change. No more flowry or "down home" speeches that turn out to be insincere, no more excuses and  p'leese, no more of that, take my word for it!   We're tired of being manipulated.     Descriptions like left or right, liberal or conservative or moderate, you name it - they don't mean a thing and only confuse, arouse and upset good people.

We have pressing problems in our country that really need attention!

#1  Over 35 million Americans live in poverty in this country and something should be done  about it without having to argue whose Republican or Democrat, or whose right or wrong!

#3  Our ineffective leaders are pouring billions of dollars into a far-off country that's mostly going down the drain, while we neglect and deny our own needs in this country.
#4  Our ineffective leaders don't take heed of global warming when even a classroom filled with sixth graders are smart enough  to understand how fast the Arctic and Antarctic ice fields are disappearing after having been around for millions of years!
#5  Our people have been "connived" into believing that it's for the good of the country to see good paying jobs disappear that paid 12-15-18-20 dollars an hour. It's not that complicated to understand when you consider how our ineffective leaders have allowed our proven system of capitalism, with it's checks and balances, to be uncaged just like a, predator, wild beast to freely exploit our own country and the rest of the world. The blame belongs to our ineffective leaders, both Republican and Democat. It surely appears that these politicians have abandoned the people who have to work for a living!  That hurts when you're raising a family while paying for a mortgage. And the best you can do is to get a job at minimum wages, if you're lucky to find one!

What do you do when you see your own kids going to bed at night hungry, or when there's not enough money to buy the kids a Christmas present?
All of the posturing about politics doesn't mean a darn thing to a person who is about to lose his house and maybe even destroy his family because he desparately needs help and  "there ain't no one minding the store." Are you hearing this, Mr. Bush?

Israel's Political Dilemma

Israel's Political Dilemma
by PoorBensAlmanac, Mon Feb 27, 2006 at 01:40:32 AM EST

At this very moment and by its own hand, Israel may be sowing the seeds of its own destruction.
Several weeks ago, on national television, Evangelist, Pat Robertson,  shocked some of his listeners when he spoke about Israel, and said words to the effect,  that he believed that G-d would be very angry if the tiny Israeli nation went along with public pressure and gave up a substantial area of Israel for the creation of an independent Palestinian State. Several thousand years ago, the Book of Exodus specifically spells out G-d's devine plan for what would become the kingdom of Israel. At that time, ancient Israel was much larger than it is today and included all of its present land area plus the land that has become Jordan.

Some of us strongly believe, both Christian and Jew, it was through Devine Intervention that the Jewish people finally regained their homeland in 1948, after being scattered all over the world for more than two thousand years. Therefore, is it any wonder that  G-d clearly would be angry with the people of Israel to now divide-up their small, unbelievably tiny country? During the kingdom of Solomon, there is a famous parable that has been passed down through the ages: Two women claiming the same infant were presented before the court of Solomon.  Both women were most convincing and Solomon could not accept or reject either woman's plea. Solomon who was considered most wise, realized that the real or legitimate mother would avoid harming her own child at any cost, even if it meant sacrificing her own life for the child's. Solomon's response was that the infant be cut into two parts and each woman would receive a part. One of the women pleaded with Solomon to spare the child as she now was ready to let the other woman have the infant. Of course, we all know how this famous parable ends.

Solomon would no more have cut the infant into two parts then he would have cut-off an arm from one side and a leg from the other. Perhaps it was G-d's way then of testing Solomon as it is now G-d's way of testing the present government of Israel.

Iraq on Cusp of Civil War:
              By: Poor Ben

Both the Sunni and Kurdish religious groups are resisting the Shiite Party's political dominance over Iraq's newly formed legislative body.  The possibility or probability of Civil War is not if one will actually happen, but when will this confrontation erupt?

It becomes clearer, with the passing of each day, what the reasons behind the bombings, the assassinations, the roadside murders, and the killing of innocent people all seem to focus on:

The perpetrators do not want Iraq to have a government that is freely elected and democratic.
The perpetrators want the coalition forces and the American presence out of Iraq.

They will not be derailed from blowing up mosques, killing their own innocent Iraqi men, women and children, and coalition troops, until they have reached their mission; Iraq must become a religious state, in the manner of Iran and Syria, and under the control of religious Muslims. They are prepared to maim and murder tens of thousands of their own and to  destroy all of Iraq's oil infrastructure in order to prevent democratic rule in Iraq.

Tragically, we can expect this Civil War to end in a massive bloodbath!

Historically, Iraq's religious clans have been fighting for centuries. There is a great deal of distrust between the clans and disputes usually end in a war. Since these people follow ancient hierarchal laws and customs, as practiced by their forefathers for centuries, change will be resisted and require many years to accomplish.  Ironically, tribal fighting was reduced, considerably, during Saddam Hussein's iron-fisted rule.  Therefore to ever expect peaceful coexistence between the Sunni, Shiite and Kurds, along with the scores of smaller-sized religious groups is wishful thinking, at best. Of course, only time will tell.
Muslims in the Middle East attach to their religion as if a framework that surrounds their every life's experience. In this context, observant Muslim men and their families do not question or disobey the demands made upon them, in the name of Islam and by their religious leaders.  In Islam, there are no grays, but only black and white areas. This explains why a Muslim will accept, a fatwa, or religious directive, and willingly agree to give up his life by being a suicide bomber in exchange for the promise of future martyrdom.  Also, it explains why the Western World is unable to understand how the exercise of such extreme brutality and human carnage can be condoned in the name of religion. Or, why worldwide rioting will happen and even cause the deaths of many innocent people simply because it was rumored that a Koran, a Holy Book, had been thrown into a toilet!  We may reject as uncivilized, and inhumane forms of Muslim punishment; such as their practice of beheading humans, of cutting or tearing off arms and legs, of stoning humans to death, etc; However, it would appear that Islamic Law dictates such punishments even in this day and age. We may disagree but would still not have the legal right to force the Iraqis to reform their practices.
Unlike all world religions, Muslims are taught from earliest childhood that Islam is the only true faith and that nonbelievers are Infidels. Furthermore, Fundamentalist Muslims go beyond this by believing that Infidels are the enemies of Islam and must be eliminated. The Standard Dictionary's definition of Infidel. A person who does not acknowledge your God [ a heathen, pagan, gentile].
I, seriously believe that a Civil War will breakout once there is a major reduction in U.S. troops. When this happens, the talk is that our Leaders will expect our soldiers to return to Iraq in order to help the democratic factions. If this should happen under President Bush's watch, it is almost a certainty that he would want the American people to repeat the spending and send our military back to Iraq. The question then is whether or not the American people would be willing to follow
President Bush, Dick Chaney and Don Rumsfield back into war?

How Will Our World End?

Our world began with a thunderous, resounding blast, accompanied by a thrust of unimaginable force. Incredible to think that this phenomena took less than four minutes to create our solar system. Have you ever wondered if our world will end in the same way, with a big bang?
Can I get your attention for just a minute!  I want you to think about this. Everything we know that exists came from the same pot of stew! Yes, that's correct, everything from the highest forms to the lowest, are all of common origin. Every human being, every animal and creature of the world, every plant, and even the air we breath, the water we drink, even our soils and our rock formations all sprang from the most basic single cells.

It's incredible, just thinking about it, that it took less than four minutes for our solar system to come into being. And that it would then take another 13.7 billion years to get us to where we are at in our development.  You ask, why does he bother with these details? Because its important that we focus on a few important matters. First, that the Earth we inhabit is not indestructible or infinite but comes to us with a life-cycle of its own! Second, that the Earth will not support life for a very much longer period of time if it is not carefully maintained.

At the very beginning, there was a  mass consisting of matter, gases and particles of light floating through space. Over time the mass became so intensely hot that it exploded and totally destructed. When this occurred, millions of atomic and sub-atomic particles of nuclear energy were released into space. This would become the solar system, in its earliest stages.

Some scholars consider the very possibility of Intelligent Design, or an Intelligent Designer, as being part of the equation. This belief would certainly reinforce our religious teachings and our unchanged faith in a G-d, who the Bible repeatedly refers  to as, Master of the Universe , and who also would have been the Master Force in the creation of the universe. Other scholars even go one step further: They are able to accept Darwin's theory of evolution as a manifestation of the same Master Force that created the universe, had also set into motion, the anatomical blueprint of all living things that exist on our planet to this very day.

Age of Aquarius:
Are we not in the golden Age of Aquarius? Surely, our sciences and technology have advanced more in these past 100 years than in all of the past 100,000 years, back to the time when primitive man first appeared. At no previous age in history has mankind truly been master of his/her own fate. Today,we can go to the moon. Or, for those less hearty, we can catch a plane and fly directly to Dublin for a steamy bowl of Irish oats.  Then,  on to Florence for a lunch of pasta and provolone, and end our day with a moonlit dinner and a bottle of Nykteri wine on the romantic Isle of Santorini! Our computers allow us to reach anyone on the planet in less than a few minutes. The most difficult equations now take minutes to solve instead of whole days!

Mankind, today, is at an impasse.  Mankind, for the first time in his history, is truly master of his world. We no longer have to prove ourselves by continuously raising the bar or by selfishly collecting  wealth as an end in itself. We know that being the strongest, or the wealthiest nation in the world doesn't make for a better world. We know that life is not a game and the world is not a play board. That, life is not about winning but making winners of others. Finally, that life is not a race of who comes in first, but of reaching the life's ending in a state of dignity and humility.
mankind has within it's grasp, the ability to choose peace and plenty for all, or ultimate annihilation for all!  I say these things quite seriously! Yes, mankind could eliminate world hunger and poverty almost immediately while it reduced catastrophic illness and disease. Our planet grows enough food to feed everyone on earth. However, we are faced with receding levels of fresh, drinkable, water due to climate change. Also, another pesky problem to the world's water supply continues to be industrial pollution.

Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that the present administration rejoined the Kyoto Treaty Organization and was now a serious player concerned with reducing greenhouse gases, the global warming effect, and saving the environment.

Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that the present administration came to realize that the biggest threat to all mankind are the nations that have stockpiles of nuclear warheads. The United States and Russia alone have a combined total of more than 20,000 nuclear warheads, or enough destructive power to destroy every object and every living thing on this planet!

Think about it. We're at a true watershed! It's no longer a question of them or us. We've moved beyond that point, ever since countries like China, Israel, N.Korea, India, Pakistan, and a few others entered this nefarious, nuclear circle.
The nations of the world really need to get on top of this problem ASAP. We must eliminate the risks we face, each day, while this real and ever present threat of nuclear annihilation  exists in our midst.

Our world began with a thunderous, resounding blast, accompanied by a thrust of unimaginable force. Will our world end in the same way? It's really up to the United States to set an example for the rest of the world. "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."

There's more...
