Maybe you can let her speak for herself - she's a grown woman.

  • Yep - Here's the net favorabilities of different candidates for the group of potential vp nominees -- among Independents.

    Candidate  Fav-Unfav
    Biden       42-29 (+13)
    Bayh        31-21 (+10)
    Kaine       24-23 (+1)
    Sebelius    18-21 (-3)
    Clinton     39-57 (-18)

Biden had the highest net favoribility ratings.

And it's not "a fix" to release one's delegates. It happens pretty much every convention.

Well, it looks like you're wrong anna shane. See link above.

BTW, are you still thinking that policy proposals that Obama's put out don't tell you anything about what he'd do in office? Last time I saw you post here you claimed that what he said and wrote really didn't count as communication...for some reason.

How pathetic. So you're saying that women will ask for special treatment?  As a woman I find that deeply offensive.

  • on a comment on How will you vote? over 5 years ago

Who the hell cares?  Do you really think women are so dumb that they'll vote for any woman even if the candidate's positions are not to their liking?

BTW, I do research in this area and there's ZERO evidence that women are more likely to vote for women candidates than male candidates if the woman candidate is a Republican and the male candidate a Democrat.  ZERO.

Again with the referring to women as "girls."  Why do you do that?

And do you really think that all women candidates are better than male ones? Did you just love Margaret Thatcher?

Anna Shane - How nice to see you here!  I thought you were only posting at Alegre's place where there difference between that blog and NQ is getting smaller and smaller.  Why did you decide to come back here?

AP reports it will come on Wednesday: http://www.time.com/time/politics/articl e/0,8599,1835639,00.html

  • Those numbers have to be compared to the % Democrats the nominee was already receiving.

Obama's numbers for the Democratic vote is just a touch below where Kerry ended up among Democrats. In other words, Kerry had a lower base of Democratic support when his vp nominee was chosen.

Besides which, from some blog posts and news coverage, you'd think that there would be a massive revolt if anyone but Clinton was chosen. That most definitely didn't happen.

Clinton's strong statement on behalf of Biden might have helped - so thank you, Hillary Clinton!

I'm sure she was going to do this anyway. And Tuesday makes sense because that's when she's going to speak.

Well, I don't care. And when I friends today, I'll ask them if they care.

Caring about something like this with all the big issues this year seems incredibly petty.

  • Yeah, I mean that killed Reagan when he picked the guy who called his economic plan "voodoo economics."

    Also:

There never was a deadline. In fact, the other day Gibbs said they might not announce until Wednesday at the convention.

And it's not Obama's fault that the media got leaks and the beans were spilled a few hours early. Also I think folks who were out or sleeping Friday night - just not paying attention to politics - probably learned the news from a text message. My college aged daughter did.

And I can't imagine that anyone would really care about whether they heard from text message or not...certainly not in a few days from now.

The announcement was put off because of the McCain gaffe.

I think it was a GREAT move to not announce on Thursday. Otherwise the whole "I don't know how many houses I own" thing would have been buried. We got two good days of publicity out of it and now they can use it through the campaign.
