Clint was also endorsed in 2006 by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, both against the Dem primary challenger (Andy Michaud) and against Feeney in the general. I believe Clint can win in 2008 with our support.
And to all those who say Clint's a nutcase - not true, but even if it were, I'd take a Dem nutcase over a corrupt Repub any day. ;-)
I think Dr. Dean has done a great job. I make a monthly contribution to a Democracy Bond which I'll most certainly cancel if Dean is ousted. He was the reason I bought a Bond in the first place, so why bother if he's gone? And I'll send all groups a fax to let them know why I won't contribute to them anymore.
FWIW, there's a movement on DKos to get as many people as possible to send the DNC $20.08 (to signify success in 2008) on Dean's birthday, Nov. 17. That might be another nice poke in the eye to people like Carville.
I don't know much about how polls work, so hopefully someone can answer this. I haven't seen any polls for FL-24 (Clint Curtis vs. Tom Feeney). Most people seem to think Feeney has a lock on it, but with all the seats in play that were previously considered "safe" Republican, I'm dying to know if we have a shot.
1. He's challenging Tom Feeney (R-Abramoff)
That one reason should be good enough, but here's some more:
2. Very strong on election integrity and verifiable ballots
3. Wants to ditch the F-CAT (horrible Florida schools "achievement" test that's part of NCLB)
4. Will fight oil drilling off Florida's coast
5. Single payer universal health care coverage
Plenty more good stuff on his website! Plus he could really use the money! FL-24 has been pretty much ignored by the national Dem groups, PACs, anyone who could bring national recognition and funding in. Feeney is one of the most corrupt members of Congress and we need to lose him.
