Cheating in Bucks County??

BREAKING NEWS It has come to my attention that supporters of Barack Obama may be handing out official Democratic party literature in Bucks County, a suburb of Philadelphia, covered with Obama stickers, and saying that the Democratic Party has endorsed Senator Obama.

I am attempting to obtain direct evidence and will update this blog entry as (and if) the story develops. My source is extremely trustworthy and well-established in Democratic politics. Note that this is a preliminary report and not a definite case of fraud. Usually, I would not run anything with a single source - take it for what it is. I'm making an exception because cheating cannot be tolerated.

Has anyone else heard of other instances of cheating? If so, here is the number of the Clinton legal hotline: 877-472-9460.

Hasn't the democratic party endorsed Hillary Clinton?

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

sory of like richardson endorsed obama. at least, that's what the obama people in the iowa caucuses were telling richardson supporters. richardson did drop out and endorse obama three months later - maybe they were just psychic. you think?

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

Whoa why did I just get troll rated for that?  After I asked the question I looked it up - the Democratic party of Pennsylvania has endorsed Hillary Clinton.

Alegre and JHL, kindly remove your troll ratings or explain them.

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

You got troll rated for your snarky comment. And no, I will not kindly or otherwise remove it. I am sick and tired of all the rabid BO supporters on this site and their inflammatory, offensive rhetoric. Of course I am not surprised by it, since your candidate sets the example.

Clinton supporter here!  I agree with you.  Lets stop with the troll-rating, and lets try to debate like adults here.  No snarkiness on either side.  It doesn't serve either of our candidates.

Perhaps you would like to enlighten all of us as to your definition of toll...  you are quite simply the WORST abuser of the TR/HR system in my opinion...

So, let's make it easy on you... define troll so that we may save you the trouble of TR-ing us in the future.

I'm a Clinton supporter but I am assuming your comment was just a question. Even though I know we have disagreed in other diaries (and saw some snarkiness at times) I didn't see any snarkiness here, and I don't TR for that so  I uprated you in this instance.

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

Appreciate it.

Saw the chairman of the PA Democratic party on TV the other night where he was referring to the Clinton campaign as "we".  Hence the question.

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

Friends from Pittsburgh are reporting that in Pittsburgh, Bloomfield and Lawrenceville, people were mailed directions to out-of-the-way "polling places" that don't exist.

by rhetoricus 2008-04-22 07:46AM | 0 recs
PS

It was new voters who got these

Call the hotline. Do they have copies of those mailers?

by owl06 2008-04-22 07:50AM | 0 recs
Yes, done

people who know to call have it cleared up fast, and Obama people are all over it, canvassing areas that seemed the hardest hit by the mailers

Voting problems

..whatever their cause, should be reported on, though

by rhetoricus 2008-04-22 07:50AM | 0 recs
Re: Voting problems

True, but there is a difference between reporting on legitimate problems after a thorough investigation and trolling rumors on election day with no proof to make it seem like a massive cheating operation to steal an election.

by NJIndependent 2008-04-22 07:56AM | 0 recs
Re: Voting problems

Well, I think if someone experiences problems or knows of places experiencing problems they should report it fast so it can be addressed fast.

But I agree about the "cheating" speculation.

by rhetoricus 2008-04-22 08:02AM | 0 recs
Re: Voting problems

also about the danger of the "cheating" speculation, a Rove specialty is to pull something dirty against his own candidate, then blame it on the opposite campaign to raise outrage on his candidate's behalf.

So we can't assume anything even when something looks dirty.

Cheating?

There's a difference between cheating and overzealous volunteers who don't understand the rules.

No one with an IQ above 60 is going to think that "The Democratic Party" endorsed Barack Obama.

Mostly, I looked on the Pa Dems official site and there's nothing there about endorsing either candidate. I'm not exactly sure a state party can endorse a candidate, now that I think about it.
Could you provide a link, please?

Campaign tactics

if this is true, then Obama must be pretty desperate, or his supporters have crossed the line.

by 4justice 2008-04-22 08:22AM | 0 recs
Re: Campaign tactics

I don't understand how people can call Obama desperate when he has an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates.

But, anyway, crummy tctics are going to be used by both sides today. Count on it.

by motbob 2008-04-22 08:42AM | 0 recs
Re: Campaign tactics

1. Obama does not have an insurmountable lead.

2. I've heard of countless crummy tactics by Obama's campaign people but haven't heard of any from Hillary's.

Obama doesn't have an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates?  That's what he said.

I can't see any halfway realistic scenario that contradicts that.  Please enlighten us otherwise.

Re: Campaign tactics

what about the rumor that sheriffs that have endorsed Hillary are threatening people with jail time if they don't vote for Hillary?

Or the rumor that they're passing out Get out of jail free cards to people arrested last night to make sure they vote today?

Seriously, if we're going to peddle stupid rumors as fact, then it's only fair that these rumors, which are out there, get air time!! Seriously!!

by southernman 2008-04-22 11:30AM | 0 recs
You know he is desperate when
  1.  He hasn't been able to bring himself to talk to reporters since April 11.
  2.  He was too afraid to go on Larry King with Hillary.
  3.  He was too afraid to go on KO with or even after Hillary.
  4.  He cancelled his next debate.
  5.  He has already left PA and is hiding in a Spider Hole in Indiana before the returns are even in in PA.

LOL...Hillary was not in MD or DE when those states voted. She was hiding out in Texas when Wisconsin voted.

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

To find out what's really happening and what's been reported rather than depending on rumors this is a good site:

http://www.electionjournal.org/

They are unbiased and just take in reports from polling places and follow-up to get the facts

It also appears some dubious election materials are being handed out to close to polling places.

Re: Cheating in Bucks County??

I heard a rumor that Clinton's people are going through jailhouses where the local sheriffs have endorsed her...with get out of jail free cards given to all in the jails who have yet to have a felony conviction and are registered to vote, then driving them to the polling places.

Hey, as long as we're promoting absurd rumors here...

This sounds so much like

some of the cheating that went on in Texas.

Thank you for the heads up and for posting the way to report voter fraud.

I heard a rumor

that Clinton offered money for votes. I heard another rumor that she's offering get out of jail free cards at the local jails and driving them to voting precincts (assuming they haven't had prior felony convictions).

I heard Hillary voters were being intimidated...by Obama's voters showing up to vote.

I love rumor starting....but this is pretty stupid stuff.
