The point is Dashele knew all the players, all the lobbyists that would resist it. I don't know what Dean knows. If you're thinking, Health care and Dean's a doctor, I'd say, health and human SERVICES and Joe's a plumber. It doesn't follow that he's qualified.

Where the next Reagan when we need him?

You mean the Reagan who left us in debt? Or the Bush I who left us in debt? Or W who fought a war on a credit card?

This is the rant of someone with problems

    Come on.

I was a guy for Hillary, hated how she was treated by the media but now I think Obama's better than she would have been. I think she would have been fighting for FL and OH and no way could have won CO & NC. I also don't think the world would have rejoiced from her win, they way they did for his, reinventing the American brand.

I think he's going to be fantastic.

Get past Hillary's private parts. The simple fact is they were both super-qualified. Hillary wasn't qualified because of her gender, but because she's major.

Obama won. Hillary is getting a major position.

STILL HOLDING this is not positive feminism but sour grapes. Let it go.

  • They cast this from the NBC gallery. Ifill is not NBC, is she? I think PBS. I think Chuck Todd was the second choice.

With this line of thinking, do we think Hillary was chosen for SoS because she was a woman? NO. she was chosen b'cause she was the best one for the job

Maybe they felt Gregory was the best one for the job? I can't think of an NBC woman journalist I'd prefer to see in that spot--only Rachel and she's too partisan so it's not realistic to consider her for this

Ralph, we have a choice for you.

You can genuinely influence public policy in this country or throw away that influence by saying Gore and Bush are the same in 2000, and Obama is an Uncle Tom.

Ralph's choice: I'll get more done on the fringe.

    Ciao baby. Stay busy.

Never seen someone so enthusiastic about losing. We'll work on even MORE of a landslide in 4 years if you like, but it will be hard to do better than 350 - 160 or whatever it was this time.

    Take care,
    Former Hillary supporter.

See, for me during the primaries, which were more inspirational, i didn't know that he was tough enough. I was passionately for HRC.

Now, with all I've seen, I've got to say I think Barack's the one who's supposed to carry this banner, and she's to do her thing in the Senate.

    I think he's a man of destiny...

Just a shout out to all of you who believed from the beginning.

Though you aren't all students or young, a lot of you are. I was for Hillary, still respect her but am amazed at Obama, how tough he is and how brilliant he is. Also, how he seems to be delivering on the realignment that you all spoke of.

For some of us, living though the autumn frenzy before the election, in 00 and 04, led to watching potentially great men lose to George W, of all people, and it changed what I and many of us thought was possible.

I remember when I was younger my father said he only turned against Vietnam after "all the kids" showed the rest of the country how wrong it was. Now I'm older and have to say it's a similar reaction. I didn't see it. You all did. Mea Culpa.

I'm very excited about our transformational candidate, know how proud we're going to be of him as he goes around the world, and I'm glad that, once again, the youngest amongst us, more than anyone, had the vision and optimism to embrace...change.

    God Bless you.
