Thanks for all of your comments. It is interesting to watch this unfold. On the one hand, you have Pelosi stating they are standing firm with the Public Option; on the other hand, headlines are screaming that the Public Option is dead.
I believe Obama really wants the public option just as much as most democrats. If the MSM is reporting that Obama will drop it to get Republican support and they still won't support the bill - well, then the Dems are free to push it through without them...
another question I would ask.....it seems one argument on behalf of drs to help curb costs is to control lawsuits and the fact that they have to over insure themselves and over prescribe tests - why are democrats against curbing lawsuits, putting limits on them in order to help control these costs?
Ask him why he believes there is such controversy and animosity towards single payer? Since it is something that will clearly help curb costs and help to cover everyone, why are so many in congress set against it?
and I don't buy any of it. It is in the best interests of the Repugs and those that like to stir up controversy (media) and Pumas to state that there is friction between Hillary and Obama. I simply don't buy it. He's too smart and she's too smart. SHE would not have accepted SoS without assurances of a major "in" role, HE would not have offered if he did not agree to this. It's not like SHE had to take this - could have easily remained happy and independent with a big role in the Senate. HE did not have to offer it, could have given it to someone else that wanted it. They are working TOGETHER with each other. The ONLY purpose served by stirring it up is for Fox news, Repugs and the media that want to build a wedge somewhere in the democratic party.
