I'm not talking talking points, I'm talking polls. The latest poll, from CBS, shows it at 49% disapprove, 36% favor. The other three most recent polls, from Rasmussen, PPP, and Pew, show similar results for an RCP average spread of 12.2% against.
We won't deserve to win if we do it by lying. You're right, just presenting the facts isn't enough. Narrative and messaging matter. Style is huge - but none of that requires adapting the immorality of Republicans.
I dunno. Some of the non-political cornball stuff is like a failed attempt at some of the humor I actually like (Blue Collar Comedy Tour, etc.), but I'd never heard of him until I saw a cheap ad during the early AM rerun of Glenn Beck. I thought it was a joke until I saw how many hits he had on YouTube.
Not a Spanish word. A column by my old boss in today's Spokesman Review picked up the "burrito" concept and ran with it, pointing out all sorts of different words that must change. Idaho was not among them:
But what about Idaho? That’s a toughie. Years ago, we were taught in fourth-grade Idaho history that the name came from the Indian word ee-da-how, meaning “gem of the mountains” or “morning light” or “English only” or something. That would be bad enough if it were true, but the fact is the name was made up by white dudes.
They actually invented a non-English name for the state. It’s enough to make you sick.
Your knowledge is still broader than mine. I didn't know Cleveland's team was even named the Cavaliers until this week - I was doing well to even know they had a team. I also can't name all the positions - IM pickup games are the extent of my knowledge..
But check this out, even I can appreciate this: http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/pop_up.asp?fpVname=OH_CPD&ref_pge=map&tfp_map=USA
