So I know there are many many Obama supporters across the board. The "nice ones" on dKos I assume are older. The nasties are young. Perhaps there are and I hope there are mature young people who can carry on adult discourse.
I ask, how do you know how old people are? Have you asked?
IMO there are annoying people of all ages and political leanings.
that strategy of Clinton's doesn't make sense. Since delegates are awarded proportionally, it is impossible to "sweep up" all the delegates of any state that your opponent contests even slightly.
So yes, she did come out ahead in CA, NY, etc., but not by so much that Obama couldn't make up the difference somewhere else. It almost seems like team Clinton didn't grasp the import of proportional allocation of delegates.
The way the D's handle delegates, candidates have to try in almost every state in a closely contested nomination like this one.
Therefore the only responsible way to leave Iraq is to withdraw most of our troops and leave behind a force large (or small) enough to train the Iraqis and hold off Al-Qaeda.
Come on. We can't accomplish these goals NOW, with the forces we have there. "Training" continues to be a farce. How is some reduced force going to do this? If the goals don't get met (which they won't) do we surge more troops in?
Either we leave - really, really leave - or we stay.
Good question. I'd like a candidate who changes the debate, who doesn't do the poll-driven namby-pamby Shrum kind of crap that has hurt the D party, who is an economic populist, who will speak the truth about the environmental limits within which we must live, who will not repeat the standard "we're more hawkish than you" on foreign policy but will instead take on the military-industrial complex, who believes in democracy, and so on ...
I would back such a candidate because I think this person's candidacy would be good for the D party and good for the country. And because I am kind of obsessive about politics.
Right now I don't see the perfect candidate. I'll probably slide a little dough to Edwards since I like to hear him dismantle the silly "war on terror" frame.
