Please do not buy products from these Republican contributors.

The Republican Party appears weak and vulnerable at the cash registers of the companies that give money to the Republican Party.

I have seen that many people do not want to call companies and tell them why they will boycott these companies and ask for a progressive agenda, so then you can just avoid buying from these companies and spread the word. I will tell the Speaker of the House and the Senate majority leader and the CEOs of these companies listed below that their profits will silently lessen until an agenda listed below gets acceded to by the Republican Party in a press conference and then passed by congress and signed by the pResident. So just do this and I will do the rest of the work for you. You have no petitions to sign, no phone calls to make, just stop buying products from these Republican contributors and to tell others as well to stop. Thank you.

Do not buy from Dell Computers, Walmart, Wendy's, Outback Steak House, Dominos Pizza, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Eckerd, CVS and Walgreens, Curves for women health clubs, General Electric and Exxon/Mobil.

A progressive agenda for America.

I demand that the Republican Party hold a press conference and accede to these demands. Until such a press conference happens and the legislation and/or actions gets passed I will boycott products from Republican contributors Dell Computers, Walmart, Wendy's, Outback Steak House, Dominos Pizza, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Eckerd, CVS and Walgreens, Curves for women health clubs, General Electric and Exxon/Mobil.

I demand that congress pass legislation ending the war in Iraq and withdraw the troops and arrange with the United Nations to replace US troops with UN troops to defend Iraq until The Iraqi army can defend Iraq.

I demand that the Republican party end their aggressive and hateful action to end a woman's right to choose abortion or not.

I demand that the Republican party end their aggressive and hateful action to harrass immigrants to this country.

I demand that the Congress of the United states and the president of the United States enact a law to increase the minimum wage to TEN dollars an hour and also to extend unemployment benefits to a year or more for all people whose unemployment benefits expired after 6 months even though they still seek work.

I demand that the Congress of the United States to not privatize social security benefits in any form including taking a percentage of the social security tax and placing it in private accounts. People can already create their own pensions with money after taxes in the private sector.

I demand that the congress make all of a person's earned income taxable for social security FICA tax purposes and remove the 88,000 dollar taxable income limit. This will make social security solvent for many years to come.

I demand the congress increase the payroll tax in order to make social security solvent as well.

I demand congress and the president enact a prescription drug benefit under Medicare Part B which covers 80 percent of medication cost, with no extra premium, no extra deductibles, no means test and no coverage gaps, and no penalties for signing up in a succeeding year.

I demand congress repeal the faulty Medicare law HR 1 / S 1 passed by congress in Nov 2003.

I demand congress enact single payer universal health insurance for every citizen as minimum coverage.

I demand that congress and the president enact universal vote by mail throughout the 50 states of the United States of America with paper ballots easy to fill out and difficult to change or invalidate by Republican Party officials. This will prevent Republicans from vote suppression by skin color and political party which happened electronically and in person in the 2000 and 2004 elections.

I demand that congress and the president enact that civil servants on every state payroll keep track of voter registrations and vote counting of mail in votes in each precinct and not companies such as Choicepoint. We need to take the Republican Party out of the business of keeping track of voter registration and counting votes.

I demand that congress and the president ban the secretary of state in each of the 50 states from engaging in politics especially acting as a campaign official for a presidential campaign.

I demand congress enact legislation protecting private pensions from corporations deliberately declaring bankruptcy or ending pensions outright.

Re: Do not buy products from these Republicans

Funny, I was going to go to Staples to buy a paper shredder today, and looked on buyblue.org to see whether or not I was shoving money into Dick Cheney's pocket. Sure enough, Staples is run by fascist, exploitive bastards who give tons to the GOP.

So, I looked up Bed, Bath and Beyond and hit paydirt. Bed, Bath and Beyond is an upstanding, moral company who isn't out to screw the middle class. I promptly went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought my shredder.

Always pay attention to who's getting your money.

Re: Do not buy products from these Republicans

I have hit a personal conundrum with the whole "buy blue" strategy.  Bed, Bath, & Beyond is a big Democratic party donor, true.  I made it a point to buy a bunch of stuff from them last year because of this.  The problem is BB&B is full of cheap products made in China.  Shelf after shelf of the stuff.  I looked in vain for anything not made in China.  Well, they sell Altoids which are made in the U.K. but anything else?

Where's the American-made, Union-made products made by workers paid a livable wage?  (Actually, it doesn't have to be made in USA, it can be made in western Europe where 70% + of workplaces are unionized, or Canada or Australia, or by one of the few unionized workplaces in the third world such as El Salvador's Justice Clothing.  The real issues are whether the products were union made and sweatshop free.)

My point:  Buying from Democratic donors is not enough, if they're just another part of the whole cheap-labor, globalization, anti-union trend.  My goal is to put the whole cheap labor racket out of business, bring back the unions, halt globalization, and bring back America's manufacturing base.  Until BB&B replaces all its "made in China" stuff with Union-made products, BB&B is part of the problem.  The same goes for other "socially responsible" companies like REI, The North Face, Borders Books...

Re: Do not buy products from these Republicans

Barely any of the stuff made in the United States is union-made, either.  American Apparel, for instance, makes a big deal of being "sweatshop-free" and made in Los Angeles; when workers tried to organize over the last few years, though, they've been among the worst union-busters http://www.behindthelabel.org/infocus.as p?id=84.  Even worse, many "Made in America" products are actually made in the Northern Mariana Islands, which is in some legal ways technicaly part of the U.S., but where American labor laws don't apply.  So, buying American-made products doesn't necessarily help at all.  One good way to help is to support students who are backing the Designated Suppliers Program (http://www.unionvoice.org/studentsagains tsweat/home.html), which'd help workers at factories producing university apparel unionize.

Another meaningful thing to do is buy from Just Garments, the factory you mentioned above (http://www.justgarments.net/purchase/ind ividuals.htm).  They're in financially tough times right now and really need orders, so buying from them would really help.  This is especially true if anyone's making a large order for a company or something and could order through them.

Re: Do not buy products from these Republicans

Thanks for the additional info.  I was aware of American Apparel being union busters.  Didn't know about the Mariana Islands loophole but I'd be interested in finding out more - especially which companies.

Re: further documentation on Exxon/Mobil

I've got an ActBlue page profiling some good Democrat candidates who are running against GOP incumbents who take money from Exxon/Mobil's PAC:

http://www.actblue.com/page/Defeat+Exxon +PAC%27s+incumbents

I don't know about you guys, but with the latest news on the $400 million parachute they're giving their departing CEO, while today gas went up another 6 cents at my local pumps, Exxon is threatening to eclipse Halliburton as my favorite corporation to hate.

Re: further documentation on Exxon/Mobil

Just do what I do... Lump Oil companies into one big group.  I still say there is something illegal going on.. price fixing or something.  No was GAS should be this high, companies make record profits and all without some sort of disaster to explain it.

Some of these aren't black and white

I don't use Curves being a male, but places like Curves, Wendy's, Domino's and even some Exxon's are all franchises.  In other words it isn't the black or white issue that Walmart or Dell is... THey are all corporate stores or sites and all generated money goes to the evil empire.

While the corporate groups may be hard core GOP supporters, that doesn't mean the individual franchisee is.  The owner of a Curves near me is a HARDCORE dem who donates to the party.  By boycotting that store, you also potential hurt dems... although on a smaller level.

Just keep that in mind.  Just because the main group of a franchise is evil, doesn't mean all the components are.

Re: Do not buy products from these Republican cont

Yes however the money trickles up to the big GOP supporter CEO of curves for women health clubs so he can then give money to the antiabortion movement and the GOP. I say boycott Curves for women.
