Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this, Joe 65% Ned, 19%

All you Lieberman haters out there in DD land, choke on these numbers. Joe Lieberman in a heads up contest against Ned Lamont, destroys poor Neddie, 65%-19%. I guess all the slander against Lieberman just isn't working, but I'm sure you'll come up with more. Let's see the spin coming from you Lamont supports this morning.
But don't fret none. Having Joe back in the Senate for another 6 wonderful years isn't as bad as you think it might be. But for now, the smear job you guys are putting on Lieberman, just isn't working. Also, for my little friend from Missouri, I trust I made my point clear!!!

Congrats on pointing out the latest poll numbers. I don't mind reporting a story fairly, in fact it's a great thing. But I wonder if others who write blogs will be just as fair as you are. Some in here will completely ignore the Quinnipiac numbers in a vain attempt to smear Lieberman some more. They have no guts.

It's OK

It still doesn't change the fact that Lieberman is a douchebag, boring, dreadful, painful, excruciating...

It just means he gets to be all those things for six more years.

It's OK

That means you can choke on Joe being in the Senate for another 6 years. All those names you called Joe, really apply to you.

by liebermanlives 2006-05-02 06:16AM | 0 recs
And you wonder why you get attacked for your name

When you trash talk crap in a diary glorifying Lieberman without addressing criticisms aimed at Lieberman in any meaningful way in previous diaries, but then put out a diary which is just a rehash of overall polls and make convenient offbase assumptions of what Lamontt's supporters think of his chances, you are asking for it.
You come across as a kid with a serious case of blind hero worship.

Very few here have claimed that it was going to be easy for Lamont to unseat Lieberman in the primary. What many have pointed out is Lamont is geting rapid support and if enough of the liberal base turns out, he has a chance to unseat Lieberman. All your poll tells us that if Lieberman ran head to head against Lamont, he would win easily in a general election. No shit, Sherlock. Why do you think we all have been tryihng to shame Lieberman into not running as as independent?

I remember attacking you in a diary where you savaged Bush for pretty much the same stuff Lieberman supports regarding the war. How would you feel if some Bush supporter put out a diary attacking people like you "hey you Bush haters, my candidate won twice and actually increased his votes the second time around, so take that, nyah nyah nyah."  Would you consider that proof that Bush's policies are good and that we should stop wishing for his downfall?

Lucas

I didn't start this little flame war, but I will end it. For months, I sat back and heard all the smear merchants about Lieberman, well no more. This poll is a remider that I intend to go back to time and time again. When Lieberman gets reelected, it will be my VE day!!

Re: Lucas

You won't end shit.

There'll be another poll in a short while, and guess what?  It'll show Ned closer than this one.  Then another, with Lamont even closer... finally, in November... the poll that counts will show Lieberman finally experiencing the emotion that shows on his droppy, ragged, deflated face... sorrow, when he lost as an Independent to a Democratic Lamont.

And then I'll write a little choke-on-it diary and it'll be soooooo funny!

BTW... Lieberman sucks.  Just wanted to get that in there in case anyone missed how I feel.

Re: Lucas

So Lieberman wins the Democratic Nomination by a 55-45 percent vote margin instead of a 65-35% vote margin.

In order for LaMont to win- He needs to get all of the Undecideds plus 1/4th of the people that are supporting or inclined to support Lieberman

Re: Lucas

Dream on. But (if I can be sincere for a second) I do admire your tenacity, and that of your fellow Lieberman haters (I am one myself, I hasten to add, only a realistic one). I only wish you would use your resources in that regard for someone who actually has a chance of beating a Republican. There are lists of them nearly every week on this site, if you don't know who they are. Start with the three Dems running against Repub congresspeople in CT. They could really use your help. I'm serious.

Re: Lucas

Uh...we are. Lamont is showing an excellent chance of beating a Republican.

Re: Lucas

Lieberman as an Independent defeats Democrat Lamont by a 57-13 percent margin followed by 10% for The Republican

Lieberman(I)wins with 50%
LaMont(D)comes in Second Place with 35%
the The Republican Nominee gets 15%

Re: Lucas

Well I seem to recall polls saying Kerry beats Bush by 5-10% in April and May as well.  Or Gore beats Bush by 10-15% right after the convention.  Polls don't mean anything this far out, except that you need to step up your game more.  Otherwise, we might as well annoint Hillary Clinton the Dem nominee in 08 and save the money that will be spent by everyone else for congressional races that year.

Re: Lucas

If all your living for is Lieberman getting re-elected, then your life must truly be sad... If ANY politician winning is someone's VE day (with the exception of staffers or the Politicians family) then that person REALLY needs to get out more and live life a little.  Not bad mouthing lieberman (this time... I don't care for him but he isn't my Senator), but that statement really was kind of sad and makes me pity you.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this, Joe 65% N

Evidence for the proposition that Lieberman is actually a Republican is that his supporters apparently like to write posts at a Republican maturity level.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this, Joe 65% N

Joe Lieberman is a NEO-CONN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLICAN that will serving as the Junior US Senator from Connecticut for the next 6 years

Ned LaMont will go into obscurity like

Jerry Labriola and Phil Giordano

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this, Joe 65% N

Point is, if the goal was to get people to focus on winnable races against Republicans rather than the quixotic Connecticut primary, the tone of this post probably accomplished the exact opposite.

On the other hand, if the point was merely to enjoy a good adolescent gloat, mission accomplished.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this.

Seriously, I'm one of the generally "let's not mess with Joe when we've got Republicans to beat first" guys, but this diarist here is being a total dick about it.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this.

Adam, apparently, you haven't been around much have you? If you saw all the vile hatred towards a DEMOCRAT, then you would understand the way I feel. For months now, other people have been the real dicks about Lieberman. In fact, many on this website have been without a doubt, vicious in their hatred for the man. You would gloat just a little too if you knew the big picture.

by liebermanlives 2006-05-02 10:00AM | 0 recs
Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this.

Actually, I've been around longer than you have and probably defended Lieberman longer.  You're not helping the cause you purport to support.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this.

You are a hypocrite. YOu wrote a diary critical of Bush regarding the iraq war. Yet you support wholeheartedly a guy who is more gungho than Bush on the middleeast crap and who is in more denial than your average republican on what's going on in Iraq. No matter what scorecard he has with liberal groups, he undoes that with a war that is more than a one issue blunder. It has an effect on our lives, safety, domestic infrastructure and environment, war hysteria promotion warping the psyche of the American public by people who never went to war including your boy Joe. Not to mention Joe has no problem attacking Michael Moore(which in itself is not a sin), but he never attacks extremists in the republican party and pals around with the Hannitys and never attacks the Falwells. How do you explain that- that is not an independent streak , that is more of a partisan mindset by Lieberman , the only problem being Joe is partisan on the behalf of the right wingers.

Why does Lieberman not fight hard enough with the Bushies on the environment? Just introducing a few bills and voting "the right way" when your vote is not the decisive one is not necessarily what defines an environmental booster. I think the way Lieberman gives Bush a free pass despite his on the record votes on the opposing side on oher issues just shows you he is ready to sell out all the liberal policies just to make sure his precious middle eastern policies keep getting support at the expense of domestic interests.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this

My God, is it so hard to show respect to your opponents, especially when they're in your party? If Lieberman had been more respectful of people's opinions, and had disagreed primarily on principle, instead of publicly treating liberals like rabid dogs, he would never have had this primary challenge to worry about. I hated it when Bush supporters rubbed their victory in from Nov. 4th on. Don't piss off more people by doing the same.

by JRyan 2006-05-02 09:05AM | 0 recs
Yep.

Joe Lieberman will be re-elected, and he will continue to do his best to sabotage any effort by the Dems to mount a serious opposition to the neocon hijackers.

He will continue to support destructive policies and attack his "fellow" Dems.

Congratulations.

Maybe instead of beating the same drum you always seem to be beating -- specifically, the "he's-gonna-win-so-f@ck-you-all" drum -- you could explain what he's accomplished that's so wonderful, other than getting elected as a Dem in a Blue State and introducing the Iraq War resolution in the Senate?

Re: Hey Lieberman haters, choke on this, Joe 65% N

Here's a club I'm not going to join.

And as been pointed out by others.

Winning doesn't make him a great Senator.

That's like saying Gladiator was a great movie.

Support Lamont

If everyone on this page sent a few bucks Lamonts way so he could run TV ads then he might turn this race around.

Put your money where your mouth is!

Re: Hey Lieberman haters,

Lieberman is winning because CT has sort or a moderate image.  It is just like VT, it votes for liberal candidates for president but when it comes to local elections that will show a more moderate streek by putting moderates in.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters,

What the fuck? Connecticut is the Orange County of New England. Vermont is the most liberal state in the Union. Connecticut is jam-packed with spoiled upper upper middle class scum. So Lieberman fits right in. Well, Connecticut does have a liberal side, but is sure ain't very well funded.

Re: Hey Lieberman haters,

Yea, and George W. Bush is from CT and you have Independents in the House and Senate outnumbering Dems in both chambers.
