Can someone explain how to post images... diaries at MyDD.

I'll delete this diary in 10 minutes regardless of if an answer materializes.

Re: Can someone explain how to post images...

Leave it up. Since the site doesn't provide the answer, and I don't know either, I think it's a valid request.

Doesn't work as I get this ERROR statement...

Your HTML has the following error in the introtext:
Attribute TARGET for tag A is not allowed

Where are you hosting your photos?

by Lieber 2008-06-21 03:38PM | 0 recs

I'm pretty sure you can host anywhere or even 'steal'. Like this picture of Mr. Sunshine Pappy McPain from huffpo.

I go to the comment box on kos, hit link, then check the image button. then add.

You get this minus the <> at the beginning and end.

img src=" 91/thumbs/r-MCCAIN-ON-PLANE-large.jpg" alt="" title="" /

Re: hmm

That isn't hotlinking? I thought that was discouraged, and that people should only use approved hosting sites.

by BobzCat 2008-06-21 03:59PM | 0 recs

I agree with all the above, I am not aware of the policy here.

You can't do it at kos, the software only lets you link from the approved sources.

Re: Can someone explain how to post images...

<img src=;

And the link you use should be the image's URL.

Make sure you're in auto or HTML format, or it won't work.

It's a pain to have to write your own

HTML code, but once you do it a few times, it becomes natural.

First, just paste, as somebody did above, the following into your diary where you want the pic to be.

<img src="url">

Now go to the picture you want, and replace "url" with the address of the pic.  For example, you can try in the replies to this to try pasting this image into your reply.

The html you typed should have looked like this before you posted it.

<img src=" g181/91/lovehatebabypr2.jpg">

You can also insert size tags and/or make it an html link, but that's extra garbage, not necessary for simple functionality, so skip all that if you want to keep things simple.

One more note: When you are posting a pic that you got from some place like Imageshack (as I just did) use the address of the PICTURE, not a PAGE with the picture on it.  That's a very common mistake.  To get the correct link address, just right-click on the image and select "Copy Image Location", if you're not sure.

Go ahead and try it now.
