Primary endgame, VP BBQ
by Left Right and Center, Fri May 23, 2008 at 12:57:23 PM EDT
If you love Hillary, you won't love today's Left, Right & Center...but it's a good show, with discussion of Hillary's endgame (I know! don't blame me, I am just the messenger!), McCain's age, health and Veepstakes, Obama's gaffe and lastly, Bob blames Bush for high oil prices. We'd love to hear your comments, tune in to the podcast anytime, the live stream at 2:30 and 7 pm pacific time, or listen later on-demand at KCRW.com. (Oh yeah: in SoCal, we're on air, too! We are a radio station, after all! 89.9 FM and other frequencies.)
Hillary fans won't like this one. But today's Left, Right & Center is mostly about the endgame for her presidential aspirations. A discussion about McCain's VP choices and whether they're visiting him in Arizona just for the BBQ sauce or actually to talk turkey (Tony says choosing Jindal undermines him on several levels, including age and experience). McCain's health records and the way they were released raises eyebrows, Our resident 72-year old (Bob Scheer) says age will DEFINITELY be an issue as anyone over 70 knows. Obama's "will talk to tyrants unconditionally" gaffe in the debate has turned into a big issue for McCain to play off, but Tony's convinced that Obama can turn it around. Bob says look at Bush, talking to regimes formerly known as terrorists, and Tony agrees the issue can be won by Obama with the right argument.
It's a good show, hope you can listen in and please WEIGH IN with your comments here! I loved connecting, even with the people who don't like the positions the panelists take. We love an open discussion!
