technically speaking, under the right rules, blackjack can have an expected long-term payout as high as nearly 51%, without counting (which raises the payout), which means that someone who knows what they are doing (a pro, probably) can actually win.
And, if you know how to play craps, I've heard the long term payout is as high as 54%.
The casinos make money off craps and blackjack due to the sheer number of incredibly stoopid people who don't know what they are doing and get killed.
The Post reports that intelligence reorganization has been dropped from the package of measures planned for the opening days of the new Congress. Said Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.), chairman of the defense subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee and an ally of incoming Chairman John Murtha (D-Pa.), "I don't think that suggestion is going anywhere."
Seeing as how being named Obama didn't hurt him in 2004, I can't see how anyone could make hay of his middle name. Hell, I live in Illinois. I voted for him.
I didn't even know, until now, that his middle name is Hussein.
It didn't come up during the 2004 race at any point. And, while many remark (correctly) that the general election was not very competitive, the Democratic primary was bloody.
Between the machine backed (I think), higher name recognition State Comptroller Dan Hynes and multi-bazillionaire Blair Hull, he had a tough come from behind Campaign. He took 52% in a 7 candidate field.
Hit 'em hard. Call them obstructionists. Call them partisans unwilling to work with the Democrats. Call them ideologues. Hit them hard! Make damn sure the public, especially in 'red' states know that their senators are blocking the work of the senate. Let the public know that lobbyists are calling the shot on the other side of the aisle.
Or, since it was their idea, do we exercise the 'nuclear option'? I'd rather not, but these cretins need to be shown the door.
