• Reminded of this line from John Kerry's DNC address.

We're told that outsourcing jobs is good for America. We're told that new jobs that pay $9,000 less than the jobs that have been lost is the best we can do. They say this is the best economy we've ever had. And they say that anyone who thinks otherwise is a pessimist. Well, here is our answer: There is nothing more pessimistic than saying America can't do better.

We can do better and we will. We're the optimists. For us, this is a country of the future.

He should have said that more. I think it would be good for 2006.

In fact, polls show, despite larger name recogniton by both Mfume and Steele, Cardin still beat both(Mfume in the primary, of course).

from what I've heard, Paul Hackett(D) is a very strong candidate. An Iraq war vet, and small business owner. Many right wingers have said, it will be tough with him. From my visits to Freeperville, it seems apparent that many are willing to punish Pat Dewine for his father presence in the gang of 7 GOP senators. Whether we win or lose, Hackett is a solid candidate, the type we should be running everywhere.

    Some sites to check out:

  • that Hilary is running. I think she might, but I tink right now, she doesnt know. I think some moderate governor like Richardson, Vilsack, Warner, and Rendell are kind of hanging back, but are ready to go if Hilary doesnt run. I heard Richardson has some skeletons but if he is properly vetted in the primaries and doesnt get the nomination then I think he could definitely be VP.
  • That's the first thing I thought when I heard about Sptizer taking on the spammers. While his other work is no doutb admirable and has affected people by keeping the market fair, if he can get something out of this, it will really affect the average Joe, and Spitzer could be president.
  • you mean rumor about Richardson running for president?? From what I've heard, he is running. Which is partially why he made the "grand gesture" of turning Kerry down for a VP slot.

I'm just going to sit here and think about the fact that, once in the not too distant past, we had 259 Democratic Reps and 56 Democratic Senators. :).

he is pro-choice, pro-gay rights, lived with a gay couple during his divorce, has been divorced twice. His current wife and potential first lady was the woman he was nailing on the side. Somehow I dont think Pat Robertson will like those things. And he has all kinds of skeletons and a "foot in mouth" problem that the neo cons can use against him. They dont have a problem sliming vets(Kerry, McCain, and Cleland), they wont have a problem sliming the "mayor of America."

I think it is fixed now.
  • Agreed on Kyl and Talent. Poll show both are weak. In MO, Claire McCaskill, who lost the Gov's race last fall, is considering running against NoTalent, b/c of those polls showing his weakness. In AZ, the candidate is likely to be state Dem chairman Jim Pederson. From what I've heard, he is well-spoken, rich, and smart. He made a smart move last week, praising John McCain "Independence" on the filibsuter, while slamming Kyl on that issue. If we get a Dem tilt and some effort, both can win.

there has been an uptick in $$$ since Dean got the job, and I would think some of the money came from the big corporate inaugural. The transition to a different chair probably hurt us slightly in that department, but we should be fine.

Reid has impressed. And, you know what, run with these bills in 06. The campaign theme should be "priorities". Here are ours. Theirs involve telling intruding into medical decisions, threatening judges, dismantle Social Security, and change Senate tradition.
