McCain can't filibuster FISA...

thats right, he can't.... do you know why????

... think about it...

... keep thinking...

figure it out yet?

Its because he wouldn't want to. He supports Bush on crap like this, along with most other crap. He is Bush's third term. This can not be stressed enough.

Lets look at some other things McCain "can't" do

McCain can't get our troops out of Iraq..... because he does not want to.

McCain can't push for repealing the Bush tax cuts... because he is a flip-flopper, a pussy, or both.

McCain can't nominate qualified judges to the bench....because he'll be too busy trying to over turn Roe.

McCain can't focus on alternative energy....because he will be too busy drilling our coastlines and Alaska.

McCain can't be the right choice for anyone who reads this blog...

because he is a flip-flopping Bush wannabe with the potential to do at least as much damage to this country as the current administration has.

Oh, and Hillary CAN filibsuter FISA- because she is a good Democrat who would never put pettiness above her principles and would never put political crassness over the right decision.

Does that mean she will? NO

But what it does mean is that if she doesn't it will be for reasons other than the ones mentioned in a diary most if not all of us have recently read.

...and anyone who thinks she would not do the right thing because of the way progressives, the blogosphere, or Obama may have treated her over the last few months does not understand her as a person or a politician- end of story.

Re: McCain can't filibuster FISA...

Okay so McCain can't do it and Obama won't do it. The end result is still the same! If all you care about is finger pointing I guess their is  a .00001% difference but the outcome is the same.

My point was not just FISA... of course chances are you missed my point... or the rest of the diary.

as long we compromise on that " life , liberty and pursuit of happiness...

we should all be 10-4. :P

Re: McCain can't filibuster FISA...

You are kidding yourself if you don't think we have always compromised on the liberty part.

That doesn't mean we should in this case, but we always have.

Re: McCain can't filibuster FISA...

No I got your point. You might have missed mine. What is the difference if he supports something or not if he won't stand up and make his vote count for something that he supposedly believes in what difference do his beliefs make? When will it ever become more than lip service?

Re: McCain can't filibuster FISA...

I do agree that we need more than lip service...and I would love to see him stand up on this one. But I also understand that it is not that cut and dry.

Most importantly though, he will be 1000x better than Bush's 3rd term and I think it is about time for the stragglers to get on board with that fact even if they aren't entirely thrilled that he is the nominee.

so you looked into your crystal ball

and discovered that on every single issue mentioned in this diary, Obama could not follow through.  Very impressive.

ROTFLMAO NOw whose looking into their

crystal ball and making predictions...someone needs to help you apparently. You jump on someone for using a crystal ball and slam Obama then you turn around IN THE SAME FREEKING post and do the same thing.....what a joke.

by Grissom1001 2008-06-23 07:26PM | 0 recs

are you sure you're talking to the right person?  where did I FREEKING do that?

Re: so you looked into your crystal ball

I looked every issue mentioned in this diary observed his follow thru on this current issue, combined it on his historical record and have deduced that chances are he will not stand up for many things that he claims he will. If his voting record is any indication he will set the record of pocket vetoes by a single President or give "W" a real run for that record number of signing statements. Now you on the other hand have used a crystal ball to see him doing a lot of things that his actual record gives no indication of being reality based or logical.

where did I do that?  I guess I'll have to add mindreading to the list of your magical abilities

Re: so you looked into your crystal ball

Nice how you sidestepped my evaluation of Obama based on his record and his current behavior. Just can't admit that he is just another politician and it will be no different if he gets elected. What in his record makes you so sure that Obama won't be Bushes 3rd term? Cause this FISA flip ain't helping me get a warm fuzzy about the guy! I mean what else will he flip on? Iraq?

Re: so you looked into your crystal ball

The candidate who said he would be looking at everything W did and be working to undo anything he found to be unconstitutional is going to make heavy use of signing statements.

I'll take that bet...

Re: so you looked into your crystal ball

That would be the same guy who is caving on telecom immunity? Is that the guy who makes a tingle run up your leg about what he will do. Sorry I like to see some balls on the table before the break. I hate when you've already broke and find out there are not enough balls.

Re: McCain can't filibuster FISA...

There are always a few lurkers waiting for anything that might appear to hurt McCain. They jump in right away to try to change the subject. Sometimes, they even come out in the open and try to defend him. They also post comments and diaries about being nice to the Repugs if we get a sizable majority in November. They couldn't be more obvious if they had a tattoo of Shrub on their foreheads.

Hillary did put political correctness

over the best interest of this country when she sold out and voted for the war without reading the material given to her by the agencies who had researched the situation. Her aids read it and then gave her the gist of it. Her words not mine.

I don't mind people who want to glorify the good that Hillary has done but let's keep it honest.

Re: Hillary did put political correctness

Gee, I was able to read her speech on the war and although I did not agree with her vote I was able to understand why she voted the way she did. On the other hand I was never able to read Baracks speech on the war because he had it removed from his website when he ran for the Senate in 2004. He did try to recreate it last year when he kept getting questions on it but it just wasn't authenic his recording a speech in 2007 about something that happened in 2002. I did like his 2004 statements that about the war there was really no difference between his position and "W". Sorry the man has Political Whore tattooed on his forehead.
