Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good
clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards.
He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe
to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because
some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe
gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe's bacon is
safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled
with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his
right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses,
walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree
hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the
subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable
money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable
public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits,
retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and
died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's
employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or
becomes unemployed he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check
because some liberal didn't think he should loose his home because of his temporary

Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit
is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe's
money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten  Mortgage and his below market federal
student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government
would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the
country. He gets in his car for the drive to dads; his car is among the safest in the world
because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He
was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration
because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until
some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded
rural electrification. (Those rural Republican's would still be sitting in the dark)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his
union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe
wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host's keeps saying that liberals are bad and
conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought
against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day)  Joe agrees, "We
don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man
who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have".

Obama should have said Life begins at conception---however ---women deciding to have abortion---is a desperate decision that they shouldnt have to make and get to be criminally punished later.

Why not -- focus on decreasing rates of teen age pregnancy, economic issues, education,pre-natal care, etc to drive the rates of abortion down by solving unwanted pregnancy.  We need the help of religious groups too --- especially educating the moral aspects.

Clinton was able to decrease the rates of abortion but Bush was not.

This is Obama's Swiftboating---and it is effective---just look at the polls.

Obama must express disgust loudly---and do a shame on you John McCain for lying and using troops for political reasons.

Tactful  statements dont resonate to low info voters.

Low info voters need a shell shock--such as Shame on You John McCain!

---just that we are all americans.

Obama should continue talking about uniting americans.

Regarding problem solving ---He should also talk about there is no conservative or liberal --just the right solution to problems.

He should go back to his themes during the early campaign ---where we all felt hopeful and inspired and patriotic.

He should continue to encourage activism and make people own the campaign and he should ask for people's help and to contribute to the campaign.

  • Let us count the  ways.  He will say anything to get elected.

He will blow were the wind blows.

Thus he is a very political phony.

  • If I were Obama,  make sure the crowd is not just pro Obama --but a true mix or primarily McCain supporters.

  • Not only free media, but ability of Obama to draw a crowd.  Obama can draw tens of thousands,  but McCain only a few hundreds.

Thus this joint townhalls is a disadvantage for Obama and a plus plus for McCain.

  • McCain wants the crowd getting ability of Obama.  Perhaps nobody attends McCain rallies. But OBama draws a very big crowd.  That is what he likes.

Therefore if I were Obama I will agree to joint rallies only is the crowd is truly undecided, equal mix of McCain and Obama supporters.

However if it is a crowd of primarily Obama supporters then McCain has the advantage because he is allowed to make his case among Obama or lean Obama supporters.

Thus Obama shoud be careful,  because he gets no benefit from this but McCain gets a lot of benefit.

  • During the GE--- McCain will be defined as a traditional politician who is Bush lite economically and Iraq War.

Clinton will remind voters of the prosperous and peaceful and competent Clinton years.

Why would WI vote for McCain over Clinton?

PA, OH, MI ----many people there have southern sensibilities of the blue collar workers that trumps reason enough to tilt the electoral vote equation.

  • WI will go to the Dems.

  • comment on a post I Got Your "Low Information" Voter Right Here over 6 years ago

Many Democrats are voting Obama because they think he is more electable than Hillary.  But it is not so.

PA, OH, FL, MI, MO are blue collar or hispanic states.  Obama will never win these states in the General election against McCain.  Face it--Be real, it is wrong ---people just are denying it---but racism is still strong enough to deny Obama the victory in these states---coupled with Wright, Flag, those Muslim E-mails, bitter clinging remark, etc.

No matter how much money you put in these states.  I hear it from CSPAN, radio talk, blogs, from non white relatives and friends ---how can they let somebody like Obama represent US?  It is wrong but you cannot deny it. It is there.  It is ugly but it is still a reality.

Other swings states like WI, OR, MN, IO have more sophisticated population ---they are very much pro-Obama now and very angry about the war, and Bush ---will go Hillary if she is the winner.

The bloggers dont want to talk about it because it is politically incorrect and ugly--but the reality is still there.

I really like Obama and think he will be a great president --but I like a Democrat to win the WH even more because only a Democrat can fix the problems Bush created.

Address rural folks instead in a non condescending way---that it is important for them to vote for their economic interest.

Blame the politicians who take their focus away from the economic interest.  Also make sure they know Democrats share their issues too.

But acknowledge the importance of hunting,  religion, illegal immigration in their lives.

  • Hillary should say and let her minions repeat this talking point:

I am the most electable.  I win over McCain on the swingstates. compared to Obama vs McCain.

And the country cant afford to lose to McCain --why?  health care,  Iraq, Iran, economy, corruption.

Ther is serious consequence to the country if McCain wins.  Obama is inspiring but he cant win over McCain.  and the country cant afford to have another Republican in the whitehouse.

Swing States--PA, MI,FL, OH, MI,NM, NH, IOWA, NV,

Hillary wins the swing states vs McCain compared to Obama vs McCain.

That is why Hillary is the most electable.
