Edwards Supporters are no Racists

On the other side of the debate I heard this argument that Edwards withdrawal actually frees up white votes for Hillary.

I know that the Clinton campaign would want everyone to believe that Edwards supporters are all racists.

Well I got news for those making this argument, "Edwards supporters are not racists", they do not vote on race line; instead, they followed Edwards because of his passion and resolve to fight for the ordinary Americans and help them retake their government.

The Clinton campaign succeeded in transforming the MSM perception about this election from a contest of ideas to a race-baiting contest.  And now everybody is busy trying to lump Edwards' supporters into a racist box that would exactly fit into the Clinton's Southern Strategy.

I do believe that poverty and anti-poverty struggle knows no race and so are the supporters of one of the best anti-poverty crusader American have ever seen.

Re: Edwards Supporters are no Racists

Why would the Clinton campaign want people to believe that Edwards supporters are racist?  That's ridiculous.  What the Clinton campaign wants people to believe is that Edwards supporters will support her because they have similar National Health Insurance plans.

And lets face it, racists aren't exactly known for being outstanding feminists either.  Odds are that any racist Edwards supporters would stay home given their choices.

My personal bet is that Edwards did well with southerners because of their common background and culture (he did outstanding in some northern Florida counties).  You're right, Edwards supporters aren't racist, but I wish you could have thought two seconds before claiming that's what Clinton wants.

Once again, I affirm my neutrality, but this is an ugly post.

Re: Edwards Supporters are no Racists

Clinton has a majority of labor voters and union member households, Democrats making under $50,000, single mothers, etc.  That is in big part the slice of the electorate Edwards was appealing to.  Logically, they will gravitate to Clinton now.  That has nothing to do with race, everything to do with which of the two candidates is the more populist one.

Well hey, as an Edwards supporter, I appreciate the compliment.  I don't think you're a racist either, friend.

Re: Edwards Supporters are no Racists

There are so many people I think not to be racists. I wonder if I should write a post about them.

1. The Clinton campaign never

said that Edwards dropping out freed up the white vote.

2.  You can't speak for all Edwards supporters.

3.  Stop making Edwards out to be a saint.

Huh?  Where did Hillary or her campaign ever say that?  Jesus, stop with the race baiting yourself.
