McCain's Sexist Angry rant against...

His wife?

A new book by Cliff Schecter called "The Real McCain" details a disturbing exchange in public between McCain and his wife, Cindy.

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

How nice, McBush has a long day and calls his wife a trollop and a cunt.  I've honestly never heard that word come out of anyone's mouth except in a movie or read it in book.  Some like to blame McCain's temper on his POW experience and PTSD but he was called McNasty while in high school before his war experience.

McCain's campaign did not return a call from RAW STORY seeking comment Monday morning.

According to Wiki:

Schecter was a pollster for the successful reelection of President Bill Clinton in 1996 and fundraiser for former Governor of Virginia Mark Warner in 2001. He has also provided initial opposition research for the Ned Lamont campaign's unprecedented victory over sitting Senator Joe Lieberman in the 2006 primary race in Connecticut, and has consulted for the DNC, DCCC and other candidates.

There are many reasons not to vote for McCain, he's a continuation of the same disasterous policies advocated by GWB.  He's anti-choice and wants to give more tax cuts and subsidies to corporations.  I hope that Obama and Clinton start to focus on the McCain in the next few weeks and months because our attention should be focused on who is the best one to take on McSame.

I spent a lot of time this weekend with a friend who felt McCain might be slightly better than Bush but after showing her videos and talking to her about what McCain truly represents, she now knows better!

Re: Geez...

All you can do is laugh!  Obama was raised by a feminist.  He married a strong woman and is raising two girls.

Hillary is campaigning against Obama and he is campaigning against Hillary.  Hillary said the campaign has been very civil.  She respects Obama.

Re: Geez...

interesting. You post a diary on a blatant, disgusting, explicitly misogynist comment made by the candidate himself, and all we hear are crickets.

People here would rather accuse Obama of sexism than discuss McCain's ACTUAL sexism. Sheesh.

Re: McSame is Angry and Sexist

And here's his NARAL voting score:

2007:     0 percent
  1.     0 percent
  2.     0 percent
  3.     0 percent
  4.     0 percent
  5.     0 percent

Although we know people are angry with the primary, John McCain is NOT a viable alternative.

Re: Is it sad that I have no clue what a

Regarding the "redacted" term, there was--not that long ago--a feminist effort to reclaim the term. An ex-girlfriend of mine years ago read this book in connection with her then-book club. I read about half of the book, though I clearly was not the intended audience. I can't really recommend the book, but one interesting part of it relates to the etymology and history of that term. Evidently, if I recall correctly, the word once held a more honorary meaning.

Of course, in Scotland, the term is tossed around very generously--with both anger and affection, with no regard to the person's gender.

For what it's worth, I'm not defending any specific usage of the term, and I think it's rather plain that McCain's remarks are indefensible. I just wanted to pass along a link to that book.

Re: McCain's Sexist Angry rant against...

Man, I have never called a woman those words in my life. And that's after I have been stood up, broken up with on Valentines day over the phone, and cheated on. The "B" word was the best I could muster.

I guess it boils down to the upbringing......

Wow.

Is this the same McCain I constantly hear some people talk about voting for out of disgust with the misogyny of nominating Obama?
