deception

There is nothing so great as the well conceived folly
There is nothing so sad as those who follow
In all that we do and in all that we say
Being deceived and deceiving seems to be the way

We may look up we may look down
But in the end the truth is all around
Take off the blinders and get a good look
The truth be told we are all getting took

Politicians may promise this, they may promise that
Nothing in their vernacular will save us from being lost
We follow like sheep the promises they make
Regardless of the outcome and the cost

There is nothing so great as a well conceived folly
There is nothing so sad as those who follow
In all that they do and in all that they say
Deception is their method and deceiving is their way.

Obama = the Great Deceiver.

Lie to get elected.

Anything he needs to get elected.

Our country be damned (oh,wait...one of his close friends, spiritual advisors and confidents has already admitted that!)

I am saddened that you are so consumed

with hate....

Re: I am saddened that you are so consumed

Hate's a strong word, don't ya' think? I don't think anyone here hates Obama. I think he's a duplicitious guy whose hookwinked and bamboozled a lot of people. I suspect the people who support and gave him lots of money will hate him at some point, but I'm not invested in him and have no personal disillusionment. I doubt Shazone does either.

"I think he's a duplicitious guy whose hookwinked and bamboozled a lot of people."

When you say stuff like that it's hard to think otherwise.

"but I'm not invested in him and have no personal disillusionment."

Suggestions like this also shows a contempt for people who support him.  I'm sorry if you can't see it that way.

I don't hate Obama.. I don't think...

he's qualified for the position of POTUS.

That's a very different thing, IMHO.

Well by your words

(and it's hard to get context on a blog so forgive) would seem to suggest otherwise.

These are facts.  Where's the hate?

Re: Well by your words

They are in fact not "facts" as you suggest.  They are assertions that you use to justify your support of Hillary.  That is fine, your choice.  But to act as if Hillary is innocent of not doing "anything to get elected" is just disingeous(sp?).

Hillary's name was never mentioned....

in my comment.

I know that Obama is an admitted liar (he said he was not in church and then later admitted thathe was...that was a lie).

He will do anything, including trash the only Dem since FDR to have won two terms as POTUS, and trash two public servants' lifelong support and committment to the AA community.

And he admitted that he would not be expierenced enough to be POTUS when he began his first term as a US senator in 2004...and then turned around (practically) the next day and started his campaign for the WH.

That's a pretty big, "our country be damned" in my book - we need experience, intelligence (as in wonkishment) and strength to run the government post GW.  We don't need some lightweight's ego to sit in the POTUS seat surrounded by advisors who are telling the truth behind his back and admitting that what he is campaigning on is not how he would run the nation.

No hate.

Just facts.

And deceit from Barack Obama.

Re: Hillary's name was never mentioned....

"Hillary's name was never mentioned....
in my comment."

Correct, but you were making an implication that Obama is disqualified in your view because of dishonesty, I am saying that by your own standards would that not disqualify Hillary?

"I know that Obama is an admitted liar (he said he was not in church and then later admitted thathe was...that was a lie)."

This one I will give you. But what about Hillary denying she lied about Bosnia? Again, double standards.

"He will do anything, including trash the only Dem since FDR to have won two terms as POTUS,...."

So what about Hillary's interview on 60 minutes when she was asked if she thought Barack was a Muslim and she said: "No, as far as I know?"
Doesn't that seem like she is trashing Obama?

"...and trash two public servants' lifelong support and committment to the AA community."

Bill and Hillary and the media did this. Show me credible links where Obama trashed the Clintons on this.

"And he admitted that he would not be expierenced enough to be POTUS when he began his first term as a US senator in 2004...and then turned around (practically) the next day and started his campaign for the WH."

Since when is any politician not driven by personal ambition for high office? Do you honestly think that Hillary is just in it to "save America"? She always make references to the fact that she would represent a historical presidency.

"That's a pretty big, "our country be damned" in my book - we need experience, intelligence (as in wonkishment) and strength to run the government post GW."

I am confident his judgment is much better than GWB. Especially from his early opposition of the Iraq war. Him funding it is a different argument.

" We don't need some lightweight's ego to sit in the POTUS seat surrounded by advisors who are telling the truth behind his back and admitting that what he is campaigning on is not how he would run the nation."

Again, speculation on your part. Not based on any evidence that we have.

So, where's the hate?

Since I disagree with everything you have said about Hillary, there is no way that I can/will saw the same thing about Clinton.

Re: So, where's the hate?

Exactly my point. Don't you see how ridiculous it is to base your support on what you said about Obama?

by SocialDem 2008-04-04 01:54PM | 0 recs
To clarify

I am suggesting instead of basing your support on her in spite of Obama. Why not talk about how/why her positions and policies would better serve America. Ad hominem attacks is not an argument for either candidate.

Been there. Done that. I was called an...

idiot.  Stupid.  Fucking lazy.

Re: Been there. Done that. I was called an...

I understand completely. I was belittled all the time for my support of Barack. I was not trying to attack you or anything but to show you another perspective. Thanks for the great discussion. I was also curious as to why you thought what you did.
