• comment on a post The Lieberman Question over 5 years ago

To me 9 senate pick ups and not 10 is a potential nightmare.  I just want to get this right. Lieberman spoke at the GOP convention. He has all but agreed with the "BO is a terrrooist" narrative. He campaigned with Norm Coleman. He does nothing but push the democrats are weak and wrong on Iraq.  His attacks on democrats are no different than Rove's.

After the election he has to GO and his chair of the DHS must be taken away.  I cant understand how any democrat could support him staying in the party.

Right wingers really believe this stuff and she is only saying what these people think.  To them democrats are the "blame america first" party and by extension that means we hate america.

This is what they said nonstop after 9/11 and in the run up to the war.  And as i recall that is what was indirectly suggested in the 2004 election.  When they said "democrats live in the pre-9/11 world" which is code for the "they still blame america for 9/11".

She is just saying what she realy thinks and all this is nonsense.  She must have thought she was on Fox where everyone would just agree.

I think Minny will be one of the states that we will be watching on Tuesday night.  The Coleman and Bachmann races will be close and both are rightwing icons and if they both lose we will see the noise machine (Hannity, BillO, Coulter) go nuts and on and on about the left wing media.

It would be nice to win KY but GA, i dont know.  Saxby is a prick but he will be hard to beat and well we shall see.  It does seem that the last couple of elections the late braking voters went one way or another and in 2006 we seemed to get all the late breakers.  If that happens this year than maybe you are right and KY and GA will fall into place much like VA did two years ago.

I am really worry about AK and i think Stevens could really suprise us.  AK is as red as they get and Palin will bring out more voters in AK. And he is still a political force there.

If the jury doesnt come back with a verdict before the election i think of the eight that is the one that could swing GOP. I assume we will wake up on Wed morning (est) and that race may still be too close to call.

I also think we could end up winning in MS. It is close and BO could easily get 3 or 4 more % due to increased dem turnout.  So i think MS and AK will be the closest.

I think we have to win MS to get to 60 and then we would have to keep Leiberman and frankly i would rather be 59 then let him keep his chair of DHS.

  • comment on a post Elizabeth Dole - sitting in Silence over 5 years ago

The NC seat that she has was John Edwards.  I think (some one can check) that no one has one re-election from that senate seat in the last 26 years.  And i think if dole losses the new person will be the 8th person to hold that seat in the last 26 years.  That seat seems hard to win election in.

Very thoughtful response.  Funny because i seem to remember you going on and on hide rating quite a few people for no other reason then you dont agree with what they have to say.

If the best you can do is go around screaming STFU then i sure you will understand if i give you comments the through they deserve. And frankly that is not that much.

But.  Are you saying you are ok with the Nuremberg defensive.  Powell went to the UN and made statements that were not just wrong but clearly false. And as i recall he and his top ad went to DOD to decide want was reasonable to present and what was not. Powell decided what he presented and he is responsible for this and no one else.

People should go back and read his presentation to get a real idea of what a bunch of croc it was.  The news the night and the next few days killed any chance to stop the war and in fact Powell gave cover to the neocon's to brand anyone no supporting the war as un-american.

Even heard of the phase forgive but never forget???  Because that applies to Powell.  He and he alone is responsible for his actions and the result of his actions.  Need i remind eveyone how many americans and other are gone and gone for good.

Powell endorsed BO, great.  But Powell does not get a pass.   No way.

  • Yes when you get out side of the twin cities there are parts of Minnesota that are realy very conservative and are Rush, Hannity, Coulter nuts.

The sad thing is many of these voters beleive much of what she says.  And if she loses my guess is she still gets something in the low 40's.

Yes i supported HRC and yes i was VERY upset that she and a host of other dems CAVED.  And lets be clear they did. But i dont blame HRC for the campaign to push the war.

Seriously next someone will be telling me Bush is ok if he supports BO.  Please.  Powell gave the neocons cover to sell the war.  For democrats to give me shit because i am upset with Powell is over the top.  He supported and sold the war???

    Did i miss something.

  • on a comment on Colin Powell: 1996 and 2008 over 5 years ago

Hell yes i feel strongly.  How many times did the dems put their fingers in the air and say i have to cave to bush????

And really while there may be more with blood on their hands then Powel that number can be counted on one hand.  What few people were still speaking out against the war where frozen out after Powell's speach at the UN.  Seriously, maybe you should read what he said.  If it doesnt make your blood boil nothing will.

No speach sealed the deal with the votes than Powell's presentation to the UN.

What is that.  That Colin Powell is one of the major reasons we are in the biggest mess in our country in the last 50 years.

He gets a pass because he likes BO. SORRY. No thanks.  4000 american deaths!!!!!
