If I were a voter in FL-16, I would find it next to impossible to pull a lever for Mahoney after listening to the call where he fired his former girlfriend.  I cannot imagine anyone listening to that call and thinking that Mahoney is a "good guy" or someone who lives his life by "faith and family".  He comes across as a MEAN boss who just fired someone and is enjoying lording it over her.

Consider this seat a trade for NY-13 (Vito Fossella).

John McCain cannot help American's out of this lousy economy because John McCain does not understand our problems.  Take John McCain's words for it "It's easy for me to go to Washington and, frankly, be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have." [take his voice].

We cannot afford four more years of another President who is "somewhat divorced" from our problems.

When we are struggling to pay our mortgages, John McCain has lost track of how many houses he owns.

When we are struggling to afford health insurance, John McCain wants to raise taxes on your health benefits.

When we are struggling to makes ends meet on Social Security, John McCain wants to put your Social Security funds into the hands of the Wall Street wizards who got us into this mess.

It's time for a change.  Barack Obama for President.

I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message, because you deserve a President who understands your problems and has solutions to help solve them.

  • I had a diary about this yesterday. http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/9/11/9584 4/6548

John McCain, by politicizing the recommendations of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, has proven himself unfit for any office (Senate or President).

My five year old brought her "Obama - Biden" sign from the DNC to pre-school for show and tell today.  Of course, I think NY is already a pretty safe bet for Obama.

  • This is not a serious debate (although I believe Twinmom is sincere).  John McCain is trying to make that Barack Obama was in favor of "sex education for kids before they could read" when Barack Obama was really in favor of implementing the protection of kids from preverts recommended by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

John McCain has made a political football out of the work of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and has proven himself to be unworthy of the Office of President of the United States.

I ask again, why is John McCain against protecting our kids from perverts?

As a former AUSA who prosecuted pedophiles for child pornography and sex abuse, I have to tell you that John McCain is protecting perverts when he attacks Barack Obama for sponsoring this legislation.

When the going got tough, she lied through her teeth about pressuring the Alaska Chief of Public Security to fire her ex-brother-in-law.  If she had the toughness that she pretends to have on stage, she would have said, "Damn right I tried to have him fired."

But, Sarah Palin lies and hides behind lawyers.

We do not need four more years of fake bravado writing checks that will have to be cashed by the American public, soldiers, sailors and marines.

  • Here is another message I hope that Hillary espouses tomorrow:

You know, women in America still face a glass ceiling.  We put 18 million cracks in that glass ceiling, during our campaign.  And after spending one year on the campaign trail with Barack Obama, I know that he is passionate about breaking that glass ceiling, so that all Americans can live out their potential.  I have seen his interactions with his wife, Michelle, and daughters and I know that he gets it.  As President, Barack Obama will bring hope and opportunity to all Americans, men and women, boys and girls.

The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain on these issues is stark.  Apparently, John McCain's fondest wish for his wife is that she will be crowned Miss Buffalo Chip.  If you want America to keep moving down the path where a woman is valued for the content of her character, and not the amount of skin she is willing to show, join me in voting for Barack Obama.

This is all about demographics.  The music will appeal, primarily, to voters over the age of 50 (for whom this was a contemporary song).  This is the core demographic that Obama needs to bring home.  To paraphrase (the otherwise awful) Ted Nugent, "If it's too soft, you're too young."

John McCain, of all people, should not be attacking Social Security.

  • Pat Buchanan (giving the Devil his due) had the best line on McCain.  "McCain = More Wars and Less Jobs"

"How many more wars does John McCain want to fight?"

John McCain, of all people, should not be attacking Social Security.

  • I think that this is effective (particularly the one on the left) because it is so clear that the people who are speaking are authentic local senior citizens.  I think the woman in the red t-shirt (in the ad on the right) is a little over the top, which detracts from the authenticity points.  If older Americans recognize that John McCain is trying to mess with Social Security, they will turn away from him.

I would like to see this ad (or reasonable facsimiles) crafted using local seniors of all ethnicities in Florda, Arizona, California, West Virginia, North Carolina (the aging parts - not Charlotte) and Georgia.  Slick is not necessary and is probably counterproductive.

Finally, I think it is incredibly productive to point out that John McCain collected $23,000 in Social Security last year.  Here is a tag line:  "John McCain, of all people, should not be messing with Social Security"
