Politico: Clinton would cream Giuliani

Pew is out with some new polling and Politico has the coverage.  The long and the short of it that is very good news for Democrats and for Hillary Clinton.

We have all seen the polling over the last couple months showing Clinton running ahead or being very competetive in a number of states that went for Bush in '04.  Recently OpenLeft.com put up an electoral map, based on a conglomeration of recent polling, that showed Clinton winning with over 300 electoral votes.

Now we have this to digest.  According to Politico, Pew shows that:

"She wins the South.

She polls evenly with voters who attend church at least once a week.

She splits families with a household income above $100,000.

She loses rural voters and men -- but only by a narrow margin."

Re: Politico: Clinton would cream Giuliani

She won't every state  FL will be down to the wire like always.

I think you have to remember a few things:

Gallup has her favs up over 50% and her unfavs in the low 40s.  That isn't bad in todays climate.  Its actually pretty good.

Rudy unfavs are climbing people learn more about him and as he lurges more to the right.

Clintons favs will go up a bit more if she wins the nomination.  I suspect when polled a few Obama and Edwards supporters are throwing her under the bus.  Many of those folks will come back into the fold later.

The electoral college is what matters.  Who can put their map together to win.  Clinton right now has a strong advantage over Giulinai.
