Petition for a revote in Michigan

Anyone who thinks the votes should be counted in Michigan knows we need a revote. Please vote to let the people of Michigan go back to the ballot box and revote for the Democratic Presidential nominee.

I am an Obama supporter, but everyone can get behind the democratic process, including Hillary supporters, right?

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

It's NEVER too late. They can re-vote after June 3 and have PLENTY of time to get ready.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

For a primary?  Where are they getting the money?  Michigan ain't about to pay for a Democratic primary, and the DNC isn't either.  When private donors offered to pony up, Obama and co. helped shoot it down.

Elections are not easily assembled in less than 6 weeks.

What do you mean?

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

The problem is the revote will only allow those who voted in the first one to revote

meaning those who stayed home, or those who voted in the GOP one can't particpate in the revote.

ONLY Hillary Clinton and her supporters can believe this is actually fair.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

I've never heard anything about forbidding people who didn't vote the first time to vote.  Do you have a source for that?

And yes, of course people who voted in the Republican primary can't vote in the Democratic primary.  I don't believe there is any state in the nation that officially allows people to vote in primaries for two different parties, and I also believe it's contrary to DNC and/or Michigan Democratic Party rules.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

I'd support a revote if democrats who voted in the Republican Primary could revote.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

I would support that vote too. Not only did many Dems vote in the Repub primary, but a lot stayed home. The primary wasn't going to have any consequences. Having a revote and not letting these people vote would be disenfranchisement.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

Exactly, there was a concerted effort by many progressives to get Dems to vote for Romney.  I have several friends who voted from Romney.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

well duh everyone who is honest about this knows Obama didn't support the revote because these people would have been left out

hmmm Obama is standing up for the progressive democrats

Hillary would throw em under the bus to just get a win, yeah and they wonder why Hillary is not favored by progressive bloggers.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

The MI well is so poisoned now that I don't know how it can be set up for a fair election at this point.  I wish MI and FL never would have moved their dates.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

It's too late. Planning elections is not a quick and simple thing. Polling places need to be arranged, workers need to be found and trained, ballots need to be printed, etc. To count all elections need to be over by June 10th less then 7 weeks away.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

I wish they would re-vote, but those who don't want it to count at all will still complain about a re-vote, even if it was opened up to everyone in the state.

Re: Petition for a revote in Michigan

Petition all you like. If you aren't a Michigan resident, they don't care.

The state legislature created this mess, and they refuse to fix it. There are many reasons why, including the repugs who want us to stay divided. They will block it.

I'm all for a re-vote in MI

provided Clinton drops the ridiculous provisions she tried to force on the last one.

First she tried to make it where only those who voted the first time could vote.

Then she tried to limit it to just Democrats who didn't vote in the GOP primary (one that actually counted)...both ridiculous (and illegal according to state law) scenarios.

A fair re-vote? An honest to God, no strings attached re-vote? Why the hell not? Go for it!!
