Bill Kristol Says Bush Admin. Incompetent

During his debate with The American Prospect's Robert Kuttner on May 3 at the Campaign for America's Future conference, conservative pundit Bill Kristol said that "the Bush administration  isn't the most competent of administrations." You know you're having problems when even stalwart Bush defenders like Kristol are making damaging admissions about Bush's conservative dream come true administration. The big question under discussion here at the conference is if Bush incompetence and failure is specific to Bush, or a symptom of conservative ideology and governance per se.

Re: Bill Kristol Says Bush Admin. Incompetent

Kristol's version is that the problem with Republicanism is not the ideology but the execution of that ideology in action.  The first problem more or less says that any future administrations with the current neo-con ideology would screw up.  Kristol is attempting to lay the blame on the departing Bush and continue unscathed.

Kristol may have this right but he is what has given political opportunist a bad name.  Read Nina Easton's "Gang of Five" for background on this faux journalist's sordid history.
