disagree. if we don't win VA or TN, this race won't matter much at all.
i despise JoeforLieberman, and voted for a Republican against him in 88 (never again voted GOP), but despite his sliminess, i don't think this is the most important race. Connecticut is pretty darn blue most of the time, and I am not worried it's going to go red.
one question: what about articles on issues where most people would side with the Democrat, but not clear-cut matters of corruption? e.g. for Richard Pombo, who would love to gut the Endangered Species Act, some articles show opposition from environmental groups, but not everyone would be put off by such opposition. (see on the Wikipedia page "Pombo's position as public enemy number 1 for environmental groups" from Wall Street Journal article)
Lamont needs a moment in the sun this week or next, IMO.
Speaking of New Haven, I have a poster in my house of the Sleeping Giant, a big rock formation near Hamden, CT, covered with trees in their fall colors. (Looks something like this image at sgpa.org.)
The other day, I woke up, saw the poster, and got the (perhaps nutty) idea that Lamont should use the Sleeping Giant for a rally or press conference, and talk about waking up the netroots or the Democratic wing of the Democratic party or the silent majority or whatever you want to call the movement(s) he represents. (Odd, since I live in California, tend not to pay much attention to posters I have had for 15+ years, and tend not to think of Lamont first thing in the morning.)
In any case, he needs a little push from something. Hope he gets it.
my personal feeling is that i hope the unfairness gets plenty of coverage, but it doesn't matter one way or the other whether Phil gets on or not.
i hope if Angelides does get on the show, he rises to the occasion and is ready for a home-run performance. 'cause if he is only grudgingly given a slot, he will be held to a higher standard. and he will be competing with Schwarzenegger on his own comfy turf.
better to make Schwarz try to get teachers, nurses, and firefighters to tolerate his presence and make him compete on Phil's home turf.
thanks for the link. i just sent a message saying, basically, (1) there is a time and a place for debate and dialogue about internal procedures, but in media interviews is NOT IT, (2) my donations will not be going through any Rahm-related entities unless/until he stops the backstabbing.
