You forget that it's the voters you need, not Hillary, so the cutting the baby in half approach of showing a lack of understanding of Hillary's supporters who are the key to this election demographically from women to Hispanics, to Jewish voters, Catholics, Caucasian voters (who you should stop disparaging, it's unseemly for a national party to disparage women and majorities) and on, while you acknowledge a very half hearted appreciation of Hillary herself isn't very welcoming.

It's not a way to come together, and insulting her supporters especially makes the rest of us voters feel like, if that's what they think of us fine.  We'll vote for the best prepared person for the job, a person with experience, a person who has worked with the most Democrats.

And if you don't know our principles, you can't win.  It sounds to me like you don't and you don't care to understand.  Well, let me start, fair reflection and one person one vote are bedrock.

Obama's negative campaigning in his emails were daily and relentless.  His campaign manager Axelrod went so far as to say she was responsible for causing Benazir Bhutto's death, a charge that Obama took up in full force at the most inappropriate time when the entire Muslim world was in shock and horror.

Axelrod then distorting her RFK remarks is something that Hillary supporters will simply never forget, well, it's a permanent scar.

You can continue to dance on her supposed grave, but it's contrary to facts and not a good way of reaching out to her supporters to continue to distort this campaign so blatantly.

It's not unifying to continue these distortions and this is the time when leadership would demand that you quit indulging the need to assign blame where there is none.  It's politically, the wrong time for that.

Hillary is a fine lady, a great Senator, and her ideas are so great that Obama has sought to borrow as many as he could.

You could at least respect her years of service to the Democratic Party and acknowledge that starting a campaign by claiming she was responsible for killing Bhutto at a sensitive diplomatic time was a horrible thing to do.

Or, you can continue to try to beat down the finest first Lady since Eleanor Roosevelt, and first woman to win a Presidential primary.

He said he would do it, this is an about face and seems hypocritical.

I hope I can still say when a Democrat goes against their own word, that it's hypocritical and opportunistic in my eyes.

To me, the problem is his is the campaign of Words needing to Matter, because he doesn't have much of a record.

So pardon me for being one of the few to say so, but I do see it as an opportunistic About Face and if Obama does too many of these he can't win.

  • comment on a post Should I vote for John McCain? over 6 years ago

Obama's rhetoric did not meet his actions, he was going to lift the tone of politics, singlehandedly and work in bipartisan ways.

Well, Axelrod and Obama played race card (Sean Willentzes studies are excellnt) and accused Hillary of causing Benazir Bhutto's assassination.

McCain is pro-environment......he wants to deal with global warming improve the EPA and focus on our parks.

But, promises are not as important as record...2 must go hand in hand.  McCain worked with Kennedy on immigration, and the Gang of 14 which was one of the most successful anti-Gridlocking movemnents in Congress.

He has trouble with conservative Republicans, so he's a moderate.

I think he's been a straight shooter for longer.

I believe that McCain is far from a traditional Republcan, his hero is the Bull Moose Party of Teddy Roosevelt (a third party, always a popular progressive idea) he has stood up for his own principles and he has a long career full of accomplishment.

His accomplishemts of reaching across aisle are legendary, yet he stands on principle and fights special interests his whole life.  His committment to campaign finance reform has been a heroic battle.

He is an honorable public servant, who gets my vote.   And I've been a Dem for 20 years so he's a good vote in my judgment.

courtesy to see who wins Montana and South Dakota.

They tried not to report on the extraordinary blow out against Obama hand delivered by Puerto Rico showing the weakness of his campaign.

Obama lost 70% of all voters in Puerto Rico-- young, old, women, men, educuated, uneducated, it was stunning.

This bias in favor of one campaign's PR team is in fact absolute propaganda.  "Narratives" that favor one candidate and refuse to acknowledge new and crucial data -- like Obama's weakness among core constituencies with the storyline he is the presumptive nominee is pure bias.

It's propaganda, and offensive because people are voting today.

Just b/c Obama plans to say he's won in spite of the fact that nothing is official until the Convention, doesn't mean we should all get our news from Axelrod.

Let democracy prevail, and at least have SOME courtesy to voters -- I'd bet if they were Manhattan voters this would be the most important day in the world.

I thought Obama was supposed to have a blowout in SD and MT today?  You'd think they'd be telling us what's going on one way or another there.

Problem--- is it not helping Obama, or is it outside Manhattan and they don't care?

Either way, this propaganda is terrible for voters and Americans.  We're all Americans and important voters.

They have not vetted him, they've even suppressed information about him.

This is in spite of the fact that he arrived on the national scene in December of last year, so one might think they would be more "intellectually curious."

This same general group are the ones actually responsible for giving us George Bush and the Iraq War, in spite of silly arguments here to the contrary.

So why this propaganda arm has chosen Obama so forcefully in between giving us updates on the whereabout of major artist Lindsay Lohan is a mystery.

Their track record is horrible.  Their excuses for Reverend Wright are crazy since nobody even asked what the financial and political relationship was between these two figures-- questions that would have persisted to this day for McCain or Clinton, leaves one knowing something is afoot.

    And it is not good.

  • kept him from a convention.

Hillary's case, with over 1500 delegates and a popular vote lead is certainly worthy of going to the Convention.

Especially since no woman in history ever won a Presidential primary, and whether you want to understand it or pretend it is unworthy, this was a difficult road for any woman.  And it's getting tiresome for people to pretend that Obama hasn't had many advantages.  Please check the fact that he has not received scrutiny as Bill Clinton, George Bush, or any other candidate has while he has enjoyed 70% positive coverage from media who cannot even hide who they are voting for.

It's not an even playing field.  And yet, Hillary has been gaining in votes and momentum since February.

But, not everything is about Obama.

Hillary has withstood attacks her entire career, and she has not been broken.  So, belittle her if you want, she is important and empowering to millions of women.

And girls, and boys, and men.  Her candidacy has had the harshest media attacks in history, but she is still closer than.....FDR, Eisenhower, Ted Kennedy or almost anybody who ever took their case to the Convention.

So belittle her if you like, millions see this differently.  We are very proud of her, you need not be for us to be proud to continue to stand with her history making run.

She's got the popular vote and over 1500 delegates.  It is certainly going to the  Convention.

Here's something else for the SuperD's to consider.

What kind of party are they offering us?  Used assassination language against Hillary twice, and impugning her character so viciously from day one.

Axelrod's way of impugning Hillary's character has been malicious, vicious, and unacceptable.  In fact, it was a fire-able offense.  And yet Obama kept him.

    December-- Beginning of Campaign

When Benazir Bhutto was actually assassinated at beginning of this campaign, David Axelrod accused Hillary of being at fault!  Before her body was even put into a casket, Axelrod made remarks that should have gotten him fired.

After Obama's universally panned clumsy remarks about Benazir Bhutto's death Axelrod started blaming Hillary Clinton for her assassination to distract from Obama's clumsy, unsympathetic speech!

The whole Muslim and Arab worlds were in shock and horror.  Bhutto was the first and only woman leader, and now she was shot dead in the hospital.

This is Axelrod, he's stirred assassination pots since beginning of campaign.  It's really unbelievable that he's still up to the same stuff.

When your campaign accuses Hillary Clinton of causing the death of the Only female leader of the Arab and Muslim world when they are in shock from the event, when the casket has not even left the hospital, is it really that surprising that you would hope you could force her out like that too?

Axelrod accused Hillary of Causing Bhutto's death, and he never apologized.

He was not fired, or sanctioned.

Obama even defended his indefensible remarks.

Obama went on and on assassinating Hillary's character to make up for his missing resume.

    http://www.talkleft.com/story/2007/12/28 /104317/81

Hillary Clinton went on Meet the Press saying she fired anybody who got out of line and yet Axelrod was still there after accusing her of being responsible for Bhutto's death during the Muslim and Arab's world's darkest hours.

Why did Axelrod never apologize, why did he never get fired?

This is the campaign that thinks we'll drop out before the Convention and get behind their candidate?  This is the "UNITER?"

    What a phony.

I think Hillary would like to tell the Superdelegates that she's fed up with Axelrod and Obama accusing her of things she has not done, torturing wrongful meanings and never accepting responsibilty for their extraordinary job of painting her so badly.  Of LITERALLY accusing her of causing Bhutto's assassination.  That's how low they have sunk, and yet she has still been formidable.  She is winning with voters.  17 million.  The most votes.

And with all this they've been saying that they are the good guys?  Excuse me?   Axelrod was out peddling Keith Olbmerann's insane ramblings yesterday, like his rants are news worthy.  Axelrod was calling her unworthy again yesterday, and yet it is he who is unworthy.

Hillary has earned her trip to the Convention, nobody in her position has ever been denied.  Not even the second trip to the same theme of trying to shove her out with such malicious stuff...will get her out.  It will not.

She has earned her solid support, and done so with extraordinary class.

See you at the Convention.  Like FDR who won the nomination on the 4th ballot, like Eisenhower who won the nomination on the 3rd ballot and also went on to be a strong candidate, like Ted Kennedy, like Jesse Jackson continued his candidacy without calls to drop out and stayed until he chose to bow out, like Ronald Reagan, like every other man who has ever gotten over 1500 delegates and the popular vote--- or far, far less than that.  No man in her position has ever been denied

Only this time it's the only woman to ever win a Presidential primary in history.  The first woman ever to win, a historical candidate whose run means more to women than you could ever know!  A woman whose candidacy is equally fragile, precious, and means as much as any other.  A woman who is doing what no woman has ever accomplished in America, and whose candidacy we know many if not most women will never live to see another female Presidential candidate in their entire lives.

It means the world to women and girls, to boys and men all across this nation and across the globe.

No matter what you accuse her of, she's going to take her rightful place in history--nobody's ever been denied before.  Why start with the lady making history?

It's the will of the people baby, Hillary is our nominee.

  • a diarist here of being on the level of a front page piece meant to hurt a major candidate at one of the most highly influential blogs in the country--owned by a woman who floats the high seas w/ David Geffen.

You are one of the people trying to tear down, stalk and gang up on this woman.  And it's NOT ACCEPTABLE behavior.

She's a mother, a diarist, and actually she is far more scrupulous than Meet the Press in her edits.

Yet.............she's a diarist.  HOW can you compare her to someone who's chance of becoming influential as a high school kid posting here too.  You're talking about someone who is trying to be a "journalist" in a market that includes such famous people as political comedien Bill Maher to former writers for West Wing.

Leave pro-Hillary bloggers alone.  Compare her to ThereisnoSpoon and you have an arguement.  Otherwise you're just someone ganging up on a citizen and she's had enough cyber threats and real life threats that it's not acceptable.

This stalking and these attempts to ruin her reputation are OVER.  We're looking to correct for attacking people to stop dissent.  You need to learn how to treat a LADY and a MOTHER in your community.

Reasonable amounts of dissent and respect are required in any community, so that behavior is not acceptable.

  • universal health care, not trashing working people, and not trashing the records of people who have worked their whole lives for Democratic Party and minority and human rights.

Disrespect for core Democratic values, praising Ronald Reagan and trying to tear down a 2 term Dem President, and calling Democrats "Archie Bunkers" if they don't vote for him.

Obama needs to tell the two and a half million voters of Florida and Michigan that their votes matter.

He's not legitimate as a Democratic candidate if he is okay w/disenfranchising voters.

  • and splitting it in 2, misogyny, and stalking women--Obama supporters.

None of that from Hillary's base Democrats that BO looks down his nose upon.
