James Von Brunn: Freeper.

(cross-posted at kickin it with cg and motley moose)

The gunman that murdered Stephen Tyrone Johns at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC was a right-wing extremist and Freeper.  As ThinkProgress notes:

A white supremacist born in 1920. Brunn has been approvingly cited on Stormfront, a national white supremacist website. He is apparently the author of a tract called, "Kill the Best Gentiles," which his website describes as "a new, hard-hitting exposé of the JEW CONSPIRACY to destroy the White gene-pool." Brunn, a WWII veteran, also wrote a screed on President Obama's citizenship that was re-posted to popular right-wing message board Free Republic:

Obama is missing!

Obama is missing!

The American People Demand to Know:

Obama has lived for 48 years without leaving any footprints -- none! There is no Obama documentation -- no records -- no paper trail -- none -- this is no accident. It is being done on purpose with Media help - but to serve whom & why???

Love him or hate him, we all remember how the press went to great lengths to find out every move that President Bush made ... finally unable to come up with anything factual, so they created it! When their accusations were proven empty, they refused to retract one word of the fraud they perpetrated on the American people.

Dan Rather lost his job over fraudulent documents, because common people like you & me reached out and ripped CBS to pieces. They couldn't stand the loss of sponsors OR viewers!

The same Media went to great lengths to scandalize & destroy Sarah Palin. She maintains a 91% approval rating among voters from all parties, thanks to the Internet and investigative journalists who don't work for the mainstream media.

NOW ------- The Supreme Court has scheduled a Conference for Dec 5th about Obama's

U. S. Citizenship. STILL, not a word about any of this from the Media. If it were not for the Internet and talk radio, American citizens would become the servants of a dishonest & conspiratorial Media.

THINK ABOUT IT. IT DIDN'T USED TO BE THIS WAY! How much longer are we going to sit on our hands & say not a word?

Obama could not get a simple security clearance with the information the government has on him ---- NOBODY COULD!

NOW he is privy to every top secret America has!

Re: much as they try and spin this

Sounds like you're one of those people who, for whatever reason, thinks anti-semitism only exists on the far left.  I would disagree.

Is that so

Irving Kristol, anti-semite:

Re: much as they try and spin this

You're acting like it's some kind of novelty that a white supremacist Holocaust denier would hate the Jews, and therefore he must be assigned to the far left.  Really a nonsensical argument.

Re: much as they try and spin this

The guy is in his late 80s - you think he developed his white supremacist, anti-Semitic philosophy after 9/11, or long before?  Do you think white supremacy is a characteristic found often on the left? (Know what? Don't bother answering--you've already shown yourself incapable of reality-based discussion).

Next you'll tell us that the Goodman, Chaney and Schwerner were actually young conservatives.

Stupid jackass.

i guess his praise for palin and her 'support' is all a rouse to throw us off the scent then?

Re: also...

Ronaldo, are you a birther?

Are you convinced that President Obama is a secret Muslim?

Did you staple some teabags to a hat and prance around in public somewhere waving a sign?

The reason I ask is those of us to the left of you find the statements and behavior of conservatives bizarre.  It seems like a tangled up mess of religious slogans, anarchy and racism.

Re: James Von Brunn: Freeper.

It's just stunning how these guys are trying to spin this.

by jsfox 2009-06-10 02:47PM | 0 recs
Yeah, I'm watching MSNBC now...

And a Republican Congresscritter from Michigan is trying to spin this as "not tied whatsoever" to the radical right. However, it's quite difficult for me to NOT notice how easy it is for people to resort to violence when they're being agitated constantly by the wacko blowhards on right-wing radio/far-right blogs. (I'm looking at you, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, and Malkin.)

A failed artist. Hmmm. Reminds me of someone else?

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1091 987.html

A frustrated artist and an angry man...  ....Von Brunn applied to have his art shown at the Troika Gallery in Easton, Maryland, around the time the gallery opened about 12 years ago, two of the owners, Laura Era and Jennifer Wharton, told The Associated Press. They said they turned him down because it was not up to their quality and that made Von Brunn angry.

"He stomped out," Wharton said. "You don't normally get that reaction from

Those Who Fail to Learn the Lessons of History...

Worth recalling another 'artist' twice rejected by the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts:

Accurate scholarship can
Unearth the whole offence
From Luther until now
That has driven a culture mad,
Find what occurred at Linz,
What huge imago made
A psychopathic god:
I and the public know
What all schoolchildren learn,
Those to whom evil is done
Do evil in return.

I've one question...

...where's Texas Darlin? She's still a member here. Most of Von Brunn's talking points can be found on her blog, and probably in the vaults here.

I thought this stuff about Obama was toxic then. Now it's becoming lethal.

Hate is very scary..and easily put us in

a path of downward spiral. Some of the these PUMA blogs unfortunately became engulfed with hatred for our President...

Probably at Free Republic...

Or Red State. She's a Freeper, no doubt about it. Even before primary season ended last year, I was horrified by the radical direction she was taking. And by the time Hillary had declared she would concede, I knew something was fishy when she was helping to lead the "PUMAs"... All the way to the GOP as they spewed out some of the most bigoted vitriol I had ever seen.

Without a doubt, all the right-wing sites inciting so much hatred are dangerous. They certainly have free-speech rights, but they're being irresponsible in using them to incite violence.

Dumb comment

there are few, if any, muslims here.  And certainly no jihadists.

Looks like TDBlog is not covering the

shooting...TD is more interested in Dave Letterman's silly comments (which he regretted) and Michelle Obama's dress..

on the other hand rightwing hate site Atlas Shrugs is going bonkers because Shep Smith of Fox News took the rightwing haters to task today...

Grrr, you had to remind me of the days when liberals were being banned here and the rec list was full of rightwing troll diaries.  We did have some fun though.

Who the F cares.

Freeper smeeper.

We need to start tying the Republicans in Congress to this.

Republicans are so much better at this stuff then we are.   If Republicans were in power and an pro-choice activist killed someone they's have the public believing that Pelosi helped pull the trigger inside of one week.

Even when they are out of power they get Napalitano to apologize for a memo that was SPOT ON!

What is wrong with us?   Why can't we put them on the spot.   I can't believe that we can't score some points off this.

We need to go back to what the major anti-abortion leaders are saying and what Rush and the rest are saying and start putting Republican leaders on the spot everyday.  Do you agree?   Are you worried that a convicted criminal who used guns in a past crime was able to easily obtain a weapon and kill a cop?

Re: James Von Brunn: Freeper.

To go along with my previous post.

This is a great example.   A WaPost and Politico contributor can go on 'Hannity' and blame Obama for a David Letterman joke but we don't have the moxie to call out Republicans for their inflamatory language or on their attacks on Napalitano.

Sean Hannity  and Rush helped Vonn Brunn pull the trigger if you ask me.

Re: James Von Brunn: Freeper.

the debate about whether this killer was left or right can be extended to his hero, hitler, let us not forget the foul little austrian did name his party the national socialist party....and he took some from labor pleasing lefty policies intended to hold up the working man in germany to the highest in society, he also bought into the industrialists who financed his ascent and reign....really, hitler, and this guy were not left or right, they were both, an abomination and creature of its own description\

there is a legitimate left and right, this guy belongs in neither, would not like either, really, just full of hate and blame on others for his own shortcomings
