• It was extremely popular with voters and many in DC overlooked or ignored how disappointed many were when it was removed from the Senate bill. If Congress uses the reconciliation process to pass expansions in both Medicaid and Medicare, they will be renewed in 5 years. Expansions of both programs would be so popular with voters, Congress would have a difficult time taking the benefits away. Enact reform measures that are simple and publicly popular through reconciliation and they will be renewed in 5 yrs, guaranteed.
  • Their behavior isn't excused by alcohol, being drunk allowed them to let down their guard and show what they really think.

  • That's like saying racism is acceptable as long as people are trying to help racial minorities get elected.

  • and it needs to be dealt with.  No exceptions, no excuses.

  • Its harmful to individuals and society for all the same reasons as racism, and should never be tolerated.

Without rehashing old wars from the primary, suffice it to say that sexism, directed towards Hillary and her women supporters, was tolerated by many in the Dem Party community during the primary race.

Sexism is wrong and is contrary to everything the Democratic Party stands for.  The "boys will be boys" argument is no more valid for Democrats than it is for Republicans.

Sexsim within the Dem Party at all levels from voters to leaders needs to end, period.

I'll say a prayer for your friends, they sound like wonderful people to whom we Dems owe a great debt.

Like others, I say a prayer for Stephanie Tubbs Jones. It breaks my heart to know she isn't here for this incredible moment in history.

Some others who inspired me this election are loyal Dems in our area who ran in difficult races, worked hard, sacrificed much and didn't win.  Thanks to them and hope they run again.

Well at least we've gotten him out of the House. With any luck, his self-serving DLC MO will end up embarrassing Obama's administration and get him kicked out.  Certainly easier than defeating him in the House.

Now watch for a WH agenda that places its highest priorities on Obama's corporate donors.  Hopefully Obama can serve his donors and still do something for the good of the country too.

Rahm and Pelosi have already told us that health care reform is "off the table", so there we go!

as do all cities, suburbs, towns, counties, etc.  Dems should never leave anything on the table.

Dean's strategy did have an odd and harmful backlash in that it seemed initially to attract a somewhat divisive, inexperienced and heavily opinionated group of new voters.   The sexist backlash was and is disgraceful. Let's hope Dems put an end to it very soon.

  • but I always have to read the bill first.  No offense to Kennedy, but if its not a good bill, I can't support it, name or no.

and pleased to see our allies across the world feel the same way.

As for the father thing - no thanks, I'm not into patriarchy.  I doubt Obama is either.
