Pic of Ayers stomping on US Flag- 11th hour Fox story

Yes.  I know it's Fox News and I don't usually watch them.  But quite frankly, with MSNBC in the tank for Obama, I sometimes check it out.

Fox News has just revealed that they have obtained a picture of William Ayers stomping of the US Flag.  The story detailed the many links between Ayers and Obama and asked why Obama will not condemn William Ayers, a man even the Obama campaign admits to have links with.  They are repeating this picture as breaking news non-stop.

These stories are confirming what many have believed for some time...he is untested and unknown.  And the Republicans, Fox News and Co are going to defeat him by defining him.

And yes, we should be all over the Republicans for their unacceptable links to extremists too.  Trust me, I have been all over that in my hometown and with voters I meet, so there is no hypocrisy here.

Have you vetted everyone that the Clintons have ever worked with in politics?  This is absurd.

by politicsmatters 2008-05-05 05:42PM | 0 recs
like who?

but before you tell me, make sure they are people who held Hillary's first political fund raiser and that she worked for them in the private sector and that they were, you know, domestic terrorists who got away with it on a technicality.

Re: like who?

Hillary worked at a San Francisco law firm that defended the Black Panthers and it had ties to the US Communist Party.  Now, that doesn't bother me, but I'm sure it does Fox.

...they were the people who Bill Clinton commuted two of their sentences as he was leaving office.

they have an excuse for this

they say the terrorists Clinton pardoned (the Weatherman and FALN bombed NYC) didn't serve on the same charitable board with a Clinton.  Of course not.  They were in prison.  It's hard to attend board meetings from lockup.

It's silly, of course, the same silly way they dismiss a state like Wisconsin when they lose.

Still, Clinton pardoned a drug kingpin because Fat Tony Rodham (hills brother) received a $400,000 bribe.

Oh what the republicans and Fixed News will do with that, come October!

Wow... just wow....

The poster that is making a name for him/herself by drive-by troll rates of any comment that does not fit the already accepted narrative is lecturing me...?

I was not fighting you... merely pointing out, yet again, the blatant hypocrisy of accusing Obama supporters of evil while painting Clinton supporters as innocent victims.... which is untrue to the point of being laughable

it is not like the republicans

will not bring this up as long as we are 'very very quiet".  I agree that it is a GE issue.  That is why it is better to bring it up now while voters and the super delegates have a chance to think about how this is going to play in November.

Why is Fox helping Hillary?

Why does Fox want to knock out Obama?

Why does Fox prefer Hillary?

Even Ann Coulter has endorsed Hillary.

What dirt to they have on Hillary, teed up and read to spring on her, in October.

It must be BIG.

Re: Pic of Ayers stomping on US Flag

Um, yes.  Just about everyone has.  That's how the Kantor story got shot to shit so quickly.  If it was really a story it would have been out there by now, probably when Bill Clinton was running for re-election.

One of the best things regarding Hillary...we know exactly what we get.  We don't get out of left field pics & links to extremist and far, far left wing terrorists.

interesting responses

the usual, "oh this must mean Fox wants HRC"...which of course is not the point.

The issue is, how are you people going to deal with this?  By calling names?  What will you do if this is actually designed to get Obama on the ticket, so they can use it against him?  What if this is about attaching Obama to down-ticket races?  Don't you want to help your candidate?

Of course not. Ayers merely helped Obama kick off his initial political career. Then Obama worked for the guy for 8 years. And Michelle and his wife the terrorist are friends too. Just a casual association, all of it. I'm sure. In some alternate universe.

Some folks here are very naive

You are being played by Fox, Rush, etc...and you cant see it. You are too wide-eyed and blushing over the slightest chance for Obama to go down in flames...you dont even see it. Wake up. Stop acting like a groupie and reconsider your priorities. Fox news stories like this and the right-wing smearing that follow them should offend you - instead it makes you giddy. Grow up.

Is an Obama supporter really lecturing someone about acting like a groupie and not considering their priorities?

And then you go on about right-wing smearing and how it should offend us. I mean it isn't like Michelle didn't say that Hillary can't run the WH because she can't run her WH and the Obama campaign tried to get the press to write about the Clintons' sex life, brought up Monica, the blue dress, cattle futures etc.

I mean really. Do you people have to surrender your ability to be honest when you join the Obama camp?

Even more damaging is the

interview and OpEd of the man who the WU tried to kill when he was 9. He's a registered Republican and I can see him starring in some ads in the fall with Barack as the nominee.

I hope all the DC elites that pushed Barack to run just to keep Hillary and Bill out of the White House are happy with themselves when he goes down in flames in the GE.

I know the Obama cult will find some way of blaming Hillary for his loss but they should really look at themselves, their tacky actions and the people who pushed him to run even though he wasn't ready.

They have nobody to blame but themselves.

by LatinoVoter 2008-05-05 05:58PM | 0 recs
Re: Even more damaging is the

Well, some WU are currently free because a certain President commuted their sentences...

Yeah, that would never be brought up in the fall.

Apples and Oranges....

President Clinton commuted the sentences of people who served time and who showed remorse. He didn't commute the sentences of people who never served a minute for their crimes and who wished they'd done more.

Furthermore and most importantly, Ayers didn't employ Hillary like he did Barack and Hillary didn't go to his house to have her political coming out party.

Re: Apples and Oranges....

Bullshit..

by hootie4170 2008-05-05 06:18PM | 0 recs
Re: Apples and Oranges....

Hilarious.  This is how Clinton would respond to this Rovian attack - "the domestic terrorists showed remorse while appealing their sentences, so we let them go free"?  With which part of the Fox demographic do you expect that to sell?  Just insert "bin Laden" in place of "domestic terrorists" above and you can visualize the swiftboating that would occur.

I'm just speculating here, but I'm guessing that smears about releasing convicted domestic terrorists would play worse in Peoria than smears about working with a member of the WU, who was never convicted, decades later.

Yawn.

It does scare me a bit that Fox obviously thinks Hillary is the one to beat.  I don't know what's up the GOP's sleeve. Hopefully we can trust her that she's been fully "vetted" (I am beginning to hate that word so, so much) should she be the nominee. Fox seems to be working very hard on her behalf.

A little sketchy.

American President
This reminds me of Michael Douglas' great assessment of a similar non-issue in that movie
Let me see if I've got this: The third story on the news tonight was that someone I didn't know 13 years ago, when I wasn't President, participated in a demonstration where no laws were being broken in protest of something that so many people were against it doesn't exist anymore?
Just out of curiosity, what was the fourth story?

What a joke

Obama has virtually no connection to this Ayers guy. He held a fundraiser once and gave $200 to Obama's campaign. Do you really want to get into a pissing match over shady people giving money to your candidate? How much money did Norman Hsu give to Hillary Clinton? What did the Clintons promise Marc and Denise Rich? And you bring up this guy?

Rev. Wright at least had a substantive relationship with Obama. Ayers is little more than a neighbor who lives in Hyde Park.

This is like the "other Monicas" diaries

Seriously, this is the sort of low-down right-wing horseshit that either of candidates would face in the fall. If Hillary were the nominee we'd be hearing non-stop about the "other Monicas" - the new lovers of Bill Clinton since Monica. There was already a diary about it on Kos. Fortunately, most people there had the sense to slam the diarist for trading in pond scum.

Delete this diary or go back to Free Republic where you'll find real Republicans.

Whether they succeed or not is a matter to be seen in the future.  You're certainly correct that they'll try, though.  It's what they do; there shouldn't be any surprise about that.

What does surprise me is how many Democrats seem eager to help them.
