• comment on a post Healthcare Reform Passes Major Test in Senate over 4 years ago

The GOP Congress has indeed become the best Congress money can buy! Healthcare cries out for Change and Reform and their only answer is No!

Saturday night's Senate Vote Just to have a debate on Healthcare, was a small victory for the "agents of change" (democrats) and reflects very poorly on the state and mindset of the Party of No & Fear that they stood solid and refused to even allow a debate on this issue to move forward -- thereby belying the title of being the greatest deliberative body on earth!

It is also noteworthy, that the Party of No & Fear, also fought against Social Security Reform and Medicare, and true to form or color, they are fighting against healthcare reform today!

In this Age of Aquarius the age of Brotherhood, humanity must be taught that "As money has in the past ministered to personal and family need, so in the future it must minister to group and world need. The time has now come when money must be re-valued and its usefulness channelled into new directions. The voice of the people must prevail, but it must be a people educated in the true values, in the significance of a right culture, and in the need for right human relations. It is therefore essentially a question of right education and correct training in world citizenship - a thing that has not yet been undertaken." [Money, The Medium of Loving Distribution, A Compilation from the books of Alice A Bailey ]

Thank God for the Agents of Change whose intentions are to uplift people and to serve the people...., because in all reality we really do need Change for Science teaches us that to be static and to do nothing, is to die!

GOP operatives (Party of No and Darkness), are now criticizing Pres. Obama because he showed strength of character and decency by not engaging in a school yard brawl with leaders who are supposed to be engaging in Dipolomacy! This is leading by example rather than getting petty and in the gutter with leaders who were allegedly disrespectful to the U.S.   Pres. Obama is indeed ushering in a New Era of Responsibillity and Cooperation, Further, leaders who engaged in uncivil behavior are the ones who looked weak and ignorant, not Pres. Obama. It is amazing to the GOP that Pres. Obama was able to stay "presidential" and smile through the tyrad of evil and to continue to engage in goodwill. Rather GOP thinks to stay calm and positive is to be weak, and that to be strong one must get angry and blown out of proportion like a leaf in the wind when one is provoked. I say rather that it shows strength to maintain one's position of calmness to stay fixed in one's position to be a peacemaker and to show others and the world that the U.S. President does not get down in the gutter when others are throwing barbs at him and it shows Discipline. GOP claim "he allowed himself to be Disrespected"! How could one allow themselves to be disrespected, however, Pres. Obama could himself have become disrespectful to others and made the U.S. look bad if he had engaged in tit for tat, but that is the old way, and Change has come to the U.S. We know longer have a Cowboy in the whitehouse, but a peacemaker and diplomat who shows us that we do not have to get angry when others get angry with us. We don't have to get that way!

Yesterday, while watching Pastor Charles Stanley who preached on staying silent in the face of evil, and that we had to show the strength of character that Jesus Christ did when confronted with enemies and confrontation -- that is to be silent and not engage in the confrontation but to stay responsible with the response given in the face of such challenges!

That is what Pres. Obama did -- who continued to radiate the energy of goodwill and kept his cool in the face of childishness adversity and really showed leadership qualities and also emulated Christ's teachings....., the teachings the GOP frequently profess they live by. Really?   May be they should ask themselves what would Christ do if confronted with the same siutation....

  • comment on a post Republicans Voting Against AIG Bonus Tax Bill? over 5 years ago

Regarding AIG debate, GOP are blaming Dems for putting in loophole to allow bonuses, but will not pass bill to allow Congress to tax these bonuses, thereby allowing people to get back most of the bonus money.  What hypocrisy, when all of this began under GOP/Bush/Paulson rule who would not allow any restrictions at all.  However, there were some restrictions put in by Dems' insistence, but not enough.  At least the Dems are trying to resolve this boo boo short term, and long term to put regulaitons on the greedy wall street and Washington Club gang.  Funny, how banks are now saying they do not need further stimulus money due to the regulations and restrictions inforced by the Obama Administration now going forward!

Mr. Daschle had to withdraw as it was hurting the process.  However, he is not the only one with tax problems.  There are many silent Pots in the Senate calling the kettle black.

  • comment on a post Chutzpah: Judd Gregg's Bipartisan BS over 5 years ago

At this critical stage in our rapidly crumbling economy, it would seem that the Republican Senators would do everything they can to do something to tell the American people I am on your side, and not always to say no to the middle class and little people, and always yes to the Special Interest Groups, yes to wars, yes to big oil and their tax breaks, and no to schools, education, infra structure, green jobs, too long denied and neglected. It is a sad fact that for average American citizens, the GOP is becoming the party of NO!   We can not depend on the GOP to help us -- not now, not ever.  In 2010, we will know what to do.

China Bush Style:  "We have been taught to fear and despise China as a communist threat. Simultaneously, our political leaders and the media perpetually preach the benefits of capitalism. Meanwhile the most clear and present threat from China is their capitalism. Made in China is the most published modern phrase. By investing the proceeds of their national productivity they have become the kings of capitalism and are now the primary source of goods worldwide. It is not their pretended politics of communism that we should be concerned about. We already have that here. We have been outsourced, out produced and our intellectual property is infringed, duplicated and returned to our shores by the containership load."   The Creditory System, Hari Heath

"For Sarah Palin, Thursday's night's debate was an open-book exam. She spent much of the evening methodically reading and rehearsing answers from "carefully scripted talking points." Palin's notes were largely hidden from plain view, resting behind the lectern where she stood.   Because the cable and network television stations did not show a split screen of the debate, most viewers could not see that, during Joe Biden's answers, Palin spent almost all her time looking down and studiously reading her notes. But viewers did see that when Palin delivered her answers, she would repeatedly glance down to check her talking points.   ThinkProgress has compiled a video documenting some of the instances where it was clear to the audience that Palin was propped up by written responses. Watch a video compilation."  There is another reporter who says it is against the rules to have notes, but Palin did have notes --  "JULIE MENIN, Founder & President of Wall Street Rising:  stated she found it "interesting that Plain used her notes throughout the debate.  And when you are a leader, you don't have time to look at notes. So I found her use of constantly shuffling through her note cards and looking down for the answers very disconcerting and troubling overall."  [AC 360]

(The Wedding, should shut the Race Down for a week!) From the Times of London ...

In an election campaign notable for its surprises, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice- presidential candidate, may be about to spring a new one -- the wedding of her pregnant teenage daughter to her ice-hockey-playing fiancé before the November 4 election. Inside John McCain's campaign the expectation is growing that there will be a popularity boosting pre-election wedding in Alaska between Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, her schoolmate and father of her baby. "It would be fantastic," said a McCain insider. "You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week."

Rule two: Disarm the public through fear. Warn that the entire global financial system will collapse and the world will fall into another Great Depression. Control the media enough to ensure that the public will not notice this.   Bailout will indebt them for generations, taking from them trillions of dollars they earned and deserve to keep.

Rule three: Control the playing field and set the rules. Hide from the public and most of the Congress just who is arranging this deal. Communicate with the public through leaks to media insiders. Limit any open congressional hearings. Communicate with Congress via private teleconferencing calls. Heighten political anxiety by contacting each political party separately. Treat Members of Congress condescendingly, telling them that the matter is so complex that they must rely on those few insiders who really do know what's going on!"

More McCain Hypocrisy!  - And for those who think we will not have another Bush/Cheney Whitehouse if McCain gets elected, please be advised that McCain has 10 former Bush strategists and operatives working and advising him now.  They are: Steve Schmitt, Tucker Eskew, Tracey Schmitt, Nicole Wallace, Mark Wallace, Stephen E. Biegun, W. Taylor Griffin, Matthew Scully, Greg Jenkins and Matt McDonald, which spells McCain-Bush all over again!

McCain who has been Chairman of the Commerce Committee for years says he knows very little about the economy, the one truth he has been honest about, because it has always been about Corporations first, only and last!  It is our turn now and no more corporate bail outs who are in fear of losing their luxurious way of life on the back of the American people.

Republicans Hijacked 911, by Keith Olberman on 9/11! Courage to Speak Truth!

    http://www.jedreport.com/2008/09/special -commen...

Never again should a President you want to have a beer with be allowed to lie the American public into a False & Phony war and ignore the real war as George W. Bush was able too! National Security strength, I don't think so, after all 911 happened on the Republicans' watch, but they distorted that message too and you would think that Democrats are weak on national security! Politicans who lie to the public are engaged in a betrayal of the public trust and such distortion should be deemed unethical and in some cases, criminal!

And, it is an outrage or should be that the government can give millions of dollars to CEO's from the failed Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and yet, cannot give a second stimulus check to American citizens in these hard economic times?

Republicans say No to a second stimulus while the Democrats say Yes to a second stimulus!

Is the Republican Congress working for CEO's or are they working for you, the people?
