Still wating for the Where's the Beef moment. The big dog was speaking tonight before the debate and he did a better job in making the case for Hillary than she can. He got folks saying they came in undecided and he won them over to Hillary. He must of ignored the new Clinton 08 talking points, because he barely mentioned change although he spoke in front a presumbly new banner touting Hillary as "real change".
Hillary, and probably Edwards, are going to try to make Obama seem vapid this Saturday, like Mondale successfully did to Gary Hart in 1984. Back then, Hart was running an Obama-like campaign, trashing special interests and proclaiming his "new" ideas. It worked, winning Hart NH until Mondale slammed him at a debate, inquiring what exactly his "new" ideas were. (the famous "where's the beef" line). Hart couldn't really answer.
Obama is much stronger than Hart ever was, but he's gonna need to throw out a little more substance soon.
Clinton's speech is pretty good. mentioned all the Iowans who couldn't particpate tonight (those in the military, working night shifts). She mentions unions, the middle class, and healthcare. How much you want to bet that Obama will sound like David Broeder tonight?
He won thanks to 17-29 y/o olds who don't care about bread and butter issues-see Obama's trashing of Edwards and Clinton's health care plans. Dem have to talk about that, you know Huckabee does. I hope, hope, hope he dosen't turn into a DLCer in a sexier glass.
