This is Joel from the Biden Blog. Yesterday, Tony Snow made a comment about Senator Biden that our campaign manager felt warranted a response. After all, we have seen Senator Biden's positions mischaracterized in the past. While we know most will see through Mr. Snow's comments, we feel strongly about confronting any distortions of the Senator's position on Iraq.

Gen. David Petraeus is a good man and a great soldier with a track record of almost complete failure in his previous tours of duty in Iraq...
Fact: After the initial phase of fighting, in the areas under his command, sectarian warfare ultimately escalated and his efforts for political agreements, while worthy, failed.

Fact: There have been major disappearances, losses and/or misplacement of large amounts of Iraqi weapons that were grossly mismanaged (at best) under his command.

What problem does Clinton think she can solve with a new war? Join me after the fold to discuss.
Here is my answer to Kenneth Pollack, Michael O'Hanlon and the latest tragic evasion and spin currently circulating in high Democratic circles:
This morning's story in The Washington Post ("Democrats Refocus Message on Iraq After Military Gains") is accurate and conforms to what I am hearing privately. Many Democrats are again missing the first principle of the matter and treating Iraq in political and tactical terms.
The latest view from Democrats is to adopt their politics and tactics around the proposition that the Iraq escalation is working but the Iraq leaders are not...
